That is the map of Finland during Mesolithic period. I plan to play it with FfH2.

Vers: Vanilla
You can place forests,rivers,hills,desert,resources,starting positions,goodie huts in any way you want, if possible try to make them balanced.

And about the map. Blue is land and there are few rivers you can put them on the map if you want. Ignore the dots.

Exactly how do you propose having them all in "historic" starting points?!?!

I hope you know Sumeria and Babylon both started in the Mesopotamia river system in the mid-east. Babylon took-over the region from the Sumerians. It would be the same as asking for the Etruscans and Romans both being on the same starting location on a historic map of the world. In Civ4 terms, there's simply not enough space for these overlapping Civs to both be placed in "historic" starting positions... you either have to choose one or the other, or put one of them in a non-historic starting spot.

Frankly, I think the Sumerians shouldn't even be in the game... that spot would have been better left for the Hittites.

Hi, I recall a CIV4 Europe Mod/Scenario/Map with historical starting locations, i.e. no Koreans in the UK, etc. Is there one for BtS ?

I'm looking for a Huge map of North and South America with resources and goody huts for BTS with atleast 18 civs. I can add the civ names and starting locations. If one already exists could you post the link, if not could you please make one for me.

Id really like to see the world map of Avatar: The Last Airbender

Big enough for at least 4-5 civs
I think the resources and terrain are similar to those of east asia with the fire nation as japan and the earth kingdom as china while the north and south poles, very icy

also for Warlords preferably

EDIT: fire nation capital is at the inner curve of the main island and surrounded by mountains
air nomads are scattered around the earth kingdom but can just be omitted completely

the avatar world map would be sweet, i second that request.

I'm working on an Avatar map, being on the largest size possible. I've already completed the South Pole, the islands of the Southern Air Nomads, and a few southern Earth Kingdom islands.

Only real problem I've run into is that I don't know how to set up sides in this scenario. Hey, its my first Civ4 map!

Also I was thinking:

Air Nomads: India
Water Tribe: Native Americans

Will post pictures of my progress when more of it is done


Of course, this map is being made in the hopes of a full-fledged Avatar mod in the future. I've already talked with another member here who has been trying to work on one. If you're interested in helping (or at least supporting it), please send me a PM

Greetings. I just need an existing map to be cropped down to the right size. I need to chop off rows 0-23 on the bottom south edge of the map, and columns 54-99 on the eastern edge. Would someone be able to help me out? Thanks!

I looked at that. It requires tons of line editing and renumbering... provided I even get it right. Electronic chainsaw anyone?

I have never used any map editors out there, but I think someone wrote one in Python. Usually I just do minor stuff (like inserting tiles) manually, though it's far from efficient. I don't know what to tell you.

How 'bout that... I figured out a way to crop the map using notepad's line editing approach. Sure took me a while. I had to pull the map data into Excel eventually. I don't know much about programming but I can use Excel pretty good!

Actually my 1000 BC for BTS scenario features Assyria and Babylon.

It can be done (I'm thinking Genghis_Kai's Giant Earth map here) - but you're right about the Hittites: they should be in there!
