Did you make something WW1 related?

Other than a Red Guard-type unit, no.


My unit's are scattered across all areas of the tech tree, because i usually make whatever i feel like, even if i have no plans to ever use it, and it hasn't been requested.

I do take requests though, but i have a major flaw:

I cannot make anything that I don't have parts for (i.e; i can't make vehicles or dramatically new units), and i am stuck relying on the stuff others have made and the Firaxis stuff.

You should really try to get into Blender

It really will expand what you can do, even if it may seem a little hard at first.

I am using blender, but minimally. I can remove heads for transfer and things like that, but the nuances of making an object escapes me (not that i haven't tried).

May I suggest Blender 3D: Noob to Pro?

That is how I first got comfortable with Blender. I'd recommend making a simple building as your first Civ model, which will help you get used to UV editing.

I would like to request a unit based on a recent unit made by snafuSmith. It is the german Dora gun that would/could be based on the download file named «ww1 railroad artillery». I THINK both units are quite similar and wouldn't be too hard to create it from the preceding file.

I'd do it myself but I'm still struggling with the model of a building I'm making the IG Farben headquarters.

@mechaerik - if you don't want to spend money on a book, there's a pretty easy to follow series of Blender tutorials on youtube. It's where I learned the basics of the program.

@Snafusmith - For these vehicles, are you doing models of strictly real/historical vehicles, or are you willing to venture into a sci-fi area?

I've got a lot of already made units to post/finalize, but outside of that I think I could start work on the Challenger 2. A lot of different people have requested it, so I might as well go for it. Maybe sometime in the next month you'll see it here.

Also, I'd completely forgotten about this thread (sorry). I don't always post on the forum but I do view it often, if folks want to keep using this thread as a way to request stuff from me, that works.

Snafussmith here is your units .xls with a few updates in blue or bright red. Feel free to ignore these if you want, but they are just ideas to complete the work that you are doing on unique units for civilizations. If you just make them after you have finished the others if you want that's fine. Some are speculation that is considered very likely to happen and others are actual equipment. Thanks.

Hi all, i've been away for a while but still making units, so you'll see some coming out more regular. Ive also decided to finally make the challenger 2, so hopefully youll see that next week some time. After that though, I'm not sure what to make. I'm bumping this thread so if anyone wants something made, post it here and maybe it'll get done in the near future. Remember vehicles and aircraft only please.
