The power light on my computer is stupidly bright. How do I remedy this situation without buying anything? NOTE: I don't have electrical tape and the super piercing blue light cuts through lesser tapes, and paper, like its nothing.

Clearly, making a light as bright as the light on my desktop should be a :):):):)ing felony.

Go to Walmart with a dollar, buy a roll of electrical tape, and cover it up. Trust me, you'll find other uses for the tape, well worth the money.

What taper said. Electrical tape is extremely useful, and pretty cheap.
Alternatively, get some black acrylic paint and put a dab over the light. It shouldnt be translucent if you put enough on, especially if you mix a tiny bit of white into it.

Or borrow someone's bottle of nail polish and just put a dab over the light.

I'm sorry fifty, but if the light is that bright, it is a clear sign that the computer is about to explode. Get rid of the thing immediately and buy a new one. No time for backups - your life is on the line!

(GVBN's solution is what i would have suggested as well)

Turn off the computer. :mischief:

If it's a desktop, then you should as mentioned be able to rip the thing apart and unplug it or if you were enterprising replace it with a dimmer LED (though I wouldn't recommend doing that without electrical tape).

Bottom line, every man needs duct tape, and electrical tape (scotch tape, strapping tape, teflon tape, packaging tape, double sided tape, and painting tape are also pretty important), go buy some damn tape.

Black construction paper?

duct tape and masking tape and painting tape are all incapable of affecting the superlight. I'll hit up the electrical tape next time I be at walmart.
