Just a thought for a future addition to the PB when the more important stuff is out of the way; an auto-pollution clearer. Once you get past a certain point, pollution runs rampant and I get tired of clearing it because I'm lazy. :)

It's already there - the button with 'P' on it. It's wonderful!

Edit - duh - you said AUTO pollution cleaner - wasn't thinking. Yes, that would be very very very nice!

What does this mean exactly?

I meant that if you play a scenrio or like a custom built map and not a random map everything will work. You can change the civ name and their will not be a Multiplayer detection popup.

Hm...well, actually, PB v3.0.9 or whatnot works great for me. So im just gonna stick with that until most of the bugs get worked out of the new version. However I have used the new version and found that it works great.

Good work SpiderZord and many thanks!:D
Keep up the good work!! :egypt: :D ;)

I just uploaded a new version:

PowerBar 3.2.4 beta

It includes the auto pollution cleanup feature requested. :D

Right-click on the 'P' button and it will change color to yellow - indicating autopollution cleanup is on for selected tribe. If the auto features are toggled on, then pollution will be cleared every turn automatically.

Spawn - I'm still checking why the 1.29f version is still suffering from overflow

Keep the suggestions flowing! :goodjob:

I'm back in town, and still have the multiplayer bug :( Custom scenario with custom name (name changed from "America" to the more appropriate "United States".) Therefore, Spider, I would be honored to join your bug team and give you full access to my game/computer/etc. Whatever you need to get my current game back up and running with sea-based carriers. :)

I have a suggestion- add a button that upgrades all the unit classes for the selected Tribe for example- upgrade all infantry units to Mech Infantry For Rome

The newest version gave me the same error as before:

A required .DLL file, MSVBVM60.DLL, was not found.

Any chance that someone can help me?

jjkrogs,

did you change the name of the leader? you have to use the default name of the leader, unfortunatly. But that should get rid of the multiplayer bug.

-Ben E. Gas

Strider - did you ever get the vb6.zip downloaded and run (installs the vb runtimes)?

Ben E Gas - jjkrogs has a problem because his game was already in progress (he can't change the name now) - I'm working with him to manually work around his problem.

Raven1er - good suggestion - added to the list...

I've finally fixed my own problem...

My computer had Mircosoft visually basic virutual machine 5.0 when I needed a 6.0 version.... Fixed the problems and it works great now!!

Thanks for the auto-pollution cleaner and for figuring out the problem with the mp mode. It works fine for me once I change the leader's name to the original version. Good job, Spider.

Unfortunately, i am still experiencing the overflow problem, runtime error 6

Thanks for responding Spideyand i look forward to Beta 325B!!!:crazyeye:

BTW, why would PB 210 work flawlessly, but the newer incarnations have such a tough time?

More functionality = more places to screw up

Speaking of the the problem, try this new version Spawn and let me know if it issues you a message, but doesn't crash:

PowerBar version 3.2.5 beta

That puts yet another check on the unit initialization that may finally capture that overflow.

If you change the class of a unit does it change for all civs?

Feel the force jjkrogs...

Version 3.2.3 includes the ability to alter the class (land, sea, air) of unit types globally.
1) open the info screen
2) select 'unit data' option (below unit info)
3) select your land bound carriers from list by clicking on it in the list of units
4) select sea option at bottom
5) press the 'Change selected units to class option' button

Carriers will now be able to sail the ocean blue.

PS Any land units changed (i.e. Modern Armor) to Air will have no mobility restrictions = hover tanks... ;)

Yes - the class is global for all civ units (the units reference their type --> the type defines their class).

I'm not sure how the AI would handle a tank that had an air class - i.e. will you see their tanks floating across the ocean towards you?

I have been using powerbar for some time now and have never had a problem with it. I have installed the latest version of PTW 1.21f when I click load I get a message that says mutiplayer version detected and the powerbar shuts down. Do you know what the problem is? What can I do about? Thanks for your help.

Bratboy

If you read back several posts you'll see that having a custom name for your civ or your leader will cause it to think you're playing a mult-player game. Currently you'll have to start a new game with the default names to use the newest PB and civ version.

Well, unfortunately same error. (Run-time error 6 Overflow)

This time, it crashed practically before i took my hand off the mouse!!

At least the run-time error '9' isn't happening!

uh, i look forward to 32'6'B. i have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that you'll figure it out!!

remember, i am running XP Pro.

thanks for your diligence.

I used to blame everything on XP, but now that's the OS I'm running it on my notebook...

I'll revisit my error trapping (again)...
