Pre Turn 139 - 210 AD

Whoaaaa there!! I'm just correcting the notion that Poly is somehow going back on their word with BOP.

Don't go putting words in my mouth, I'm not criticising Oct or praising Goonie here. I'm just saying that a few people mistakenly said we were going to get that city and the rest of us assumed it was true.

So, all this Poly-hating is a little uncalled for this quickly. They have been very consistent it saying all along that they had never agreed to give us this land.

Also, it is entirely possible that I have over-looked some chat log in which they did say they would let us have BOP. I just have never seen it.

I had a chat with BigFree, now ex-Consul of Apolyton.

I wont have any time for pictures this turn, when I play it. I am way tired. But hang out for the turn.

I played the save.

I have screenies of GCA's new home, and the war front. I had to pass on Monothesism, as we had already honoured that deal. I would have held back if we had not already promised.

I unloaded one pike onto Greenland (The icy one), another can be done next turn if necessary.

That's about all, I'll post screenies when I have time.

I suggest you post a new thread when you play the saves GBM. So that the first post(s) in the thread has information from the turn, so one doesn't need to look in posts deep into the thread. That is why I called this thread "PRE Turn".

Anyway, I think we should send the galley to hunt GCA galleys after unloading both Pikes on the small and icy island, which should be called ICELAND! :)

:hmm: Really dunno if we should trust Poly or if we shouldn't...

What does our military advisor say about their and our militaries compared? If GCA managed to destroy most of their attack troops, what can we do?

We have had very weak and wishy washy diplomats covering our affairs with Poly, this is true, deshelbr. But we have made our point clear over and over again to everyone involved. Now they are going to tell us to shut up and take their Northern outpost, which is far from anything we currently own, and be happy with it or take nothing at all.

From what I understand, CGA kicked the crap out of Poly's military. So, bootsie, I would say that there is one thing that is stupider (real word?) than attacking Poly and that's hiding in the shadows and sucking up to them whenever they come around. But of course that's what we've always done, so I imagine that's standard protocol for you know.

Fanatikou is a very weak nation so we should probably just cower in our private little coner and let them do whatever they want. No wonder we're in last place.
Cyc, this is a matter of our nation's survival here. On one hand, we can negotiate for BoP (or whatever Poly's new city is) probably fail, and then swallow our pride and be contented with Equilibrium. On the other hand, we can attack our best ally, capture BoP after a pitched battle (one that may well seriously weaken our military, assuming they retain the garrison there that they currently have), and then face their wrath. They may be lacking in offensive units at the moment, but I can almost guarantee that if we attack, they will quickly build some (at a much faster rate than we can) and mount a massive attack on us, one that would probably drive us into the sea. So which is better, Cyc, losing our pride or losing our empire?

And no, stupider is not a real word, but I was too lazy to correct my grammatical mistake. ;)

I still believe that GBM is proceding correctly. No matter what, we are still in a weaker position, which only could be helped if we could go into the past and chage our old policies, though it can't be helped now.

We should simply proceed with border discussion, and try to get old BoP through diplomatic finesse, and with a bit of bribery.

Well, I personaly want to see the GCers to be whiped off the world. Fanatiku will rise :).
