Pred - 03: Demigod everything random

I decided to wait a little bit before starting war. We haven't enough defensive units to protect our stack.

I don't have specific turnlog, but I built a few pikes and MDIs for the war. I discovered a few techs
 
Asuming Woobi is still gone that would leave me up. Am up in anther game and giving Woobi some extra time to pick up I'll play tuesday.

Took extra turn as I didn't want to quit without taking city.

In short, kept moving units to maya, and wounded units back. This way just lost a couple of units. Gained 2 leaders, turned into armies, used 1 on mayans as I wasn't able to braek them. The other is unused on home cont.

oops, i meant to upload the turn last night, sorry, i also took a couple extra turns but with only 3 right now it might be best to take some extras here and there. i dont know if we should recruit someone else or not, maybe only 3-4 rotations left in the game max.

pre-flight: lowered luxury rate from 40% to 20%,

due to slider adjustment the following cities needed additional specialists:
Rykjoviak - add entertainer (it cant grow without aqueduct anyways)
Anticoch - add scientist, change production to market
Nanking - add 2 entertainers, change production to market
Xinjian - entertainer
Persopilis - entertainer
Trondheim - entertainer

once the markets are finished the citizens can be put back to work

this lowered entertainment spending from 147 gpt to 67 gpt, saves 80 gpt

raised science rate to 80%, mil trad in 3 turns

change a few scientists to tax collectors, now we are at -13 gpt as opposed to -21

Copenhagen, Bergen, Oslo production all changed to temples so we can get a border expansion & have more tiles to be worked, also get our continent into our borders

1 - 960 - Beijing - Rider - Pentagon, Pasargadae - rider - cannon, Oslo - temple - wealth

2 - 970 - Chichen Itza loaded with units to fight resistance, need to upgrade units, need cannons instead of cats to take on mayan walls, disband an archer to help rush harbor

3 - 980 - Discover Mil Trad; Chichen Itza resistance ends causes city to riot, of course; Bergen - tmeple - musket; change production in Beijing to Heroic Epic, change production in Shanghai to pentagon; disband anbother archer in Chichen Itza; upgrade units; reduce slider to 0% research, either pointy stick research or come up with a plan to capture the GL from America, I prefer capturing the GL

4 - 990 - Copenhagen - tmeple - cav, Tsintao - cav - market; order restored in CHichen Itza

5 - 1000 - France wants to renew deal for spices, renegotiate for 22 gpt; Anyang - harbor - cannon; rush harbor in Chichen itza for 28 G

6 - 1010 - Golden Age ends, move entertainment slider to 30%; Chichen Itza - harbor - barracks

7 - 1020 - Trondheim - market - cav, Antioch - market - cav, X-something - market - cannnon; rush harbor in CHichen Itza

at this point my log ends, actually i started a second sheet of paper but i dont know where it is now, sorry.

Anyway, the next turn I upgraded a bunch of units in chichen itza, then i used the cannons to destroy the walls in each of the mayan cities & took all 3 cities there, netting 3 armies from elites. left armies empty to be used elsewhere. i did not notice that one city on an island so that is all that is lef tof the mayans.

in the meantime, as the mayan war ended, i declared on the vikings, i captured 2 cities quickly & got a leader there, formed an army which is still empty & in one of the cities.

this is where i leave it for mastertyguy, i was going to take one more turn to organize things a little bit better, but got distracted so lookout for units that are fortified in odd places or in cities, but i dont think i left anything on a goto move, at least i hope not.

i vote we finish off the vikings & mayans then consider an attempt on America for the gL which will catch us up in tech, we'd need to build up a lot of muskets to do it, but it is certainly possible if we land a settler, lots of muskets, our armies & some cavs & cannons. survive the interturn, found the city, load units into army. we are of course nowhere near ready now for such a campaign. both france & america have rifles now. france is another option, we can use our armies there since we have cites on that island, but if we destroy france before capturing the GL we wont be able to use it to catch up, so i suggest if we do war with france next we leave them at least one city somewhere.

mastertyguy, could you please get off civ 4 long enough to a play a few turns of this game? dont make me start hating you because i dont have 4 yet.
 
dont know if i mentioned it before, but my plans to go to school in January have changed, I have been forced to roll that back to next August instead. This means this is not my goodbye to civ game, just my goodbye to C3C game since I have civ 4 now also & a new machine to set up. I am not sure how long it will take me to get my new machine set up & running & everything else, so I will be unavailable for awhile.

Sorry, I was playing hockey, too, and studying ***** exams, and much other things. I'll play it right now.
 
OK, in 1160 AD, I took Stavanger. I loaded the army with one cav so we can use it after taking the island. In 1170, France and America signed a MPP. That is bad. In 1180, I took Birka (déjà vu?) and Hareid. In 1190, I signed a MPP with France. In 1200, the French decared war on the Vikings... Fine... They've got one city, and it's is under assault... OK... On the next turn, I finished off the Vikings by taking Stockholm.

I don't know exactly jow many turns I've played, but I've played up to 1255.

Am not sure about MPP with france, might be ok, as their pact with america will end first, then declare immediatly to get france to help us.

Forgot to mention: I only put 3 units in the armies to be able to move them later on. Maybe we should rush some canons before hitting enter.
 
i was going to say mastertyguy could take this turn set since i am not fully up and running yet w/ getting civ3 installed and mos tof my computer time is occupied by installing software from the old machine and getting this thing configured and that, but since you left it to me to fight America, I changed my mind. I wont get to it tonight, though, but I will get to it.
 
okay guys, i have had massive amounts of trouble setting up my new computer and getting civ installed and all, sorry for the delays, but i will play my turnset tonight.

one piece of advice, should you ever get a new computer and civ 4, make sure you install civ3 & conquests before you install civ 4, will save you a big headache.

nerovats, in particular i would like to apologize to you, it seems both mastertyguy & I have both had serious delays lately. i do appreciate the timeliness of your playing & hope you do not get frustrated with the waiting.
