Presidential Thread?

It has been brought up to me that it may be advantageous to have a Presidential Discussion thread.

The relevant section of the constitution is this:
1) The President shall be the designated player; meaning he plays the save. When playing the save he has the responsibility to carry out the decisions of other leaders. He is responsible for workers, city management, and powers and responsibilities not specified to other leaders. This position shall be elected every term.
It is my personal opinion that the bolded issues are better contained in the Domestic thread – and the “other powers” are best left to be discussed in the Foreign or Defense threads.

There’s already a lot to read on this forum – and I’d like to avoid having duplicate discussions as much as possible.

I don’t see any reason that people can’t address questions or concerns to the president THROUGH the Ministry that handles that issue. After all – as president, I still read and try to participate in all the threads.

Again – the point here is not to be difficult – but I’m worried that if we spread things out to much – it’s too easy to miss things, and our plans can lack synergy.

Anyway – that’s just my opinion. If people would like to see a separate thread for presidential discussions – I’m happy to play along and open to being convinced!

I'd rather leave things in the relevant Ministry, even if that minister is not the one who has the final say on, for example, worker actions. I dont' really see an advantage to a separate Pres thread at this point.

Yes, worker actions are the responsibility of the President, but I think it makes sense to discuss those actions in the Domestic Ministry thread. That is where all sort of things relating to city management and production are discussed, and it follows naturally that worker actions are integrated in those discussions.

Just because it's listed in the Domestic Thread doesn't mean Domestic is 'usurping' the powers of the president as relates worker actions and city mangement. Besides - if the president doesn't want to think about worker actions or city management, he can just delgate that duty to someone else.

Well put Peter.

As a note: It's not my intention to give up any of my constitutional powers.

I just don't think it will be in the team's best interest to discuss worker actions in a vacuum – disconnected from the Domestic Ministry.
(or anything else for that matter - but worker actions seem to be the sticking point here.)

you do not give up your constitutional power, your exercise your constitutional right to delegation. It is your duty to delegate powers you do not feel comfortable with to other citizens/ministers. You can do whatever you want in regard to these ministries, there doesn't need to be any discussion here because its all what you want to do. the discussion is whether the example you set is to be taken as president.
