Preview: The Centurion MK VIII Tank Project

Just as long as you can see the stripes on the rendered unit, it should be fine. You'd have to shrink your model down to the proper scale to check that...

As far as a MG goes, it's up to you. You're talking about a MG mounted on the top for the commander to fire, right? That might look nice, but it really would just be decoration.

Hey,
yeah, the MG for the com is only for deco, but it would be nice... I make one, and if it doesnt look good we can simple remove it.
I also test to do the stripes a lil wider... you have a nwe image in a few minutes...

Let me see if I can post a picture here. The last time I tried to do that it didn't work.

EDIT: Posted the new image with side chevrons. Are going to put the stripes on top of the sides to.

Nice kingpin, old model?
I dont know if you saw the other question I had regarding spare parts on the front of the tank. Wich shall I put there, tyres or tracks.

It's not my model. It's from the Armoured Fighting Vehicle model website: http://www.msu.edu/user/storto/afv.htm. There's some interesting info on tanks from WWI to Modern day.

As for spare parts, I think I'd go with tracks. The model I have has two track parts mounted on the front of the chassis.

I just took a look at your latest image and downloaded it and miniaturized it to game scale. I think the markings on the side might not be noticable enough. That side is in a shadow, however. Perhaps a little wider on the <|| would be better. The turret rings look fine though.

OK Kingpin, great feedback! thanx,
I´ll change the stripes a bit and post a new image soon, and with the spare tracks on the front.
......what am I thinking????? havent put in that frontwheel YET!.....mmm.... I blame the beer ... hehe...;)

That image looks good! Once the front wheel is on, I guess it's ready for the next stage, which is... ?

Okay,

Here's a pic of the approximate size of the final rendered unit. The civ markings are noticable, yet subtle.

I would think either green or camo using a combo of green and olive drab. Or should it be just olive drab. I wish there were some colour photos of it out there...

I've had a look, and most of the photos that are in colour seem to be green.

Make sure to get some dust or mud or something on it. It's got to look like it works for a living :)

As far as the isometrics go, I'll have to get back to you on that in a later post. It looks right, but I'll have to put the Firaxis Modern Armour up against it and see for sure.

Hey, gotta love that Swedish M90 Camo!!!
I just posted the new image, with the frontwheel IN PLACE! YAY!

I´ve noticed that the turret front are diffirent from the one I made. Shall I change it?

And what shall we do about the blue chevrons?

I will go to work now, are going to finish the tracks tomorrow. Bring me some feedbacks on the unit........
