Principality of Lancre

Hear ye, hear ye, men of Lancre!

Your Military Leader has now become the Prince of Aegir. Once again, Aegir pledges its loyalty and strength to Lancre, come hell or foreign hordes. That is all.

I missed that! Congratulations Grandmaster!

a question: why isnt the administration of the principality proud of hosting a cultural minority in lancre? and why does the lancre administration fight this minority because of prejudice and misunderstanding?

Dis, I would have no problem if you were simply a "cultural minority" here. It is the whole "Vampires and other Creatures" thing I am against. In a "pseudo-realistic" RPG like this, it just strains my ability to "suspend disbelief" too much. If we were playing a gothic/horror-type game, where the Undead are an expected option, no problem. But, IMO, it doesn't fit, or even belong, in this Civ3-based game.

<Role-Play>Misunderstood!? All followers of the True Gods know that vampires and werewolves are the physical embodiment of evil! They must be expunged from these lands! Wiped off the face of this good earth!

well many of the things in the rpg dont belong there. do we really want to delete them all? then ok go forward with it >-)

but imho, the rpg goes too stictly on the very narrow and scientific lines of the game. it was pretty free at the beginning though, and this also leads me to my personal conclusion that maybe many people lost interest in the rpg not only because it tends to be work, but also because of high restrictions of playability. if you want to join a rpg, you must also ROLEPLAY the feelings and thoughts of the ages... but we now tend to take a 21th-century-thinking approach on this rpg, which imho is bad for the idea of the game. we should come to a 1st-century-thinking roleplay maybe.

evil? who sais it is evil? you dont even know what we do and who we are. how dare you say we are evil?
the prejudice of the lancre administration, continuing to suppress the minorities among their citizens, are driven by evil thought of discimination and wrong thoughts.
i can not speak of all people belonging to those minorities, but for those who are modernly influenced surely.

Prince Padma,

We should discuss the altered situation that has arisen since the coronation of Prince Grandmaster.

The new Prince Vanir would like to extend his hand in friendship to Lancre. Our great Houses have a long history of alliance and cooperation, and I hope this will not end because of good Shaitan's death.

It certainly should not!

As I noted once in the Vanir thread, I am a Knight of Vanir, as well as Prince of Lancre. My very title, "Knight of the Bridge", is meant to symbolize the bonds between our two houses.

But you, of all people, should realize the extent of the changes that were occurring in Lancre (and Vanir) after the death of Shaitan. Now that there is a strong, and well-liked Prince on the throne there, we must re-evaluate our position in the world. I sincerely doubt we will simply "join Vanir", yet I also doubt we would choose to "sever all contact" as well. But we must discuss, amongst ourselves, what we are to do, now.

Aye. It would seem to me most logical to simply continue the way our lands were before the events changed them. If we sign an MPP and work together (cooperative but seperate) it would be best, in my mind.

Also, things are a bit shaky right now. Apparently some American dog, the son of Shaitan's daughter, is demanding the throne of Vanir. He will not have it, but for now the climate is tense to say the least. I fear that full-scale war might soon erupt. However, I hope this will not serve to derail the discussions between our two Princedoms regarding an alliance.

I cannot express my grief over Prince Shaitan's death, and I do not feel things between Vanir and Lancre can be the same as they were... before.

Sires of Lancre!

I urge you to return to Lancre, if you are currently outside our glorious principality! Recent events have alerted me! It seems as if our esteemed neighbour, Sir Octavian, has been disappeared at sea. We must take action to assure safety at the home front.

Therefore, I've taken the liberty to declare the highest state of alert.

All militarized personel is at watch, and any foreigner on Lancrian soil is ordered to be held for questioning.
I might have to remind you, that Lancre is situated between the foul Americans in the east, and the lands of our esteemed friend and former compatriote Sir Grandmaster, the disputed lands of Vanir.

We should meet as soon as possible. In the mean while, watch your back for traitors! Travel in safety, my friends!

With the surprise of Prince Shaitan's will, naming our friend and colleague, Sir Grandmaster of Aegir, as the new Prince of Vanir, Lancre has been without an overall military leader.

Sir Shabbaman has proven his mettle, and his worth to Lancre, time and again. He was the Military Leader of Tsort, and played an important role in saving Prince disorganizer's life at the hand's of terrorists. He has more recently stepped into the breach left by the departure of Prince Grandmaster, and performed the duties of Military Leader, without even being asked.

Since a rudderless ship will soon run aground, it is with great pleasure that I officially name Count Shabbaman of the Grail, to be the new Military Leader of Lancre.
