Principality of Lancre

With the surprise of Prince Shaitan's will, naming our friend and colleague, Sir Grandmaster of Aegir, as the new Prince of Vanir, Lancre has been without an overall military leader.

Sir Shabbaman has proven his mettle, and his worth to Lancre, time and again. He was the Military Leader of Tsort, and played an important role in saving Prince disorganizer's life at the hand's of terrorists. He has more recently stepped into the breach left by the departure of Prince Grandmaster, and performed the duties of Military Leader, without even being asked.

Since a rudderless ship will soon run aground, it is with great pleasure that I officially name Count Shabbaman of the Grail, to be the new Military Leader of Lancre.

Drat, I was hoping to have a seat in the Military department in Lancre :(.
Padma, since the Military Leader of Tsort is empty, I was wondering if I can be the Military Leader of Tsort :).

CivGeneral, didn't you swear loyalty to Vanir?

The position of military advisor is still reserved for the Lancreans. By the way, the position of military advisor for Tsort has been dissolved with the restructuring of the Lancrean government, when our former prince dis left.

It's time for a discussion on what we want to do with Tsort Castle.
We have it surrounded and entrenched, but that demands too much of our men. There are disappearing a lot too, mysteriously... I propose we use it as target practice for our new cannons, and shoot it to rubble. That way, we can find new strategies with the new weapons.

Grandmaster is part of both Lancre and Vanir. Why Cant I ~_^.

CivGeneral starts to wonder if the Red tape has rolled its way into the RPG

/Shaitan's ghost sheds a tear.
Dont worry Shai, I am still loyal to Vanir.

Padma was a special case. He was the living bridge between the lands of Vanir and Lancre when they were both in their heavy expansion phase. (That's where his title "Knight of the Bridge" came from.)

Both Vanir and Lancre knighted him to very visibly show that they were "good neighbors" and wouldn't be going at each other. Sort of like a living treaty. ;)

Padma is now a Prince but is still regarded as a Knight of Vanir to show the ongoing friendship and support between the two great northern houses.

Indeed.

And Grandmaster is no longer really a part of Lancre. In accepting the title "Prince of Vanir", it was assumed he would be giving up his position in Lancre.

We *are* working on a new treaty/agreement which will more clearly spell out our mutual roles, but the friendship between the two houses remains, and will continue so.

Sir Shabbaman, I concur. Our new cannoneers need practice, and holding our forces outside Tsort is to draining, in many ways.

I have hesitated, both out of consideration for our former Prince, and for the heritage of Castle Tsort. But we must remove this taint from our lands.

So load the cannons, and proceed with the demolition.

Oh, I wonder How I can be the "Knight of the Living Bridge" between the two lands :).
Would it be possible for me to be the Vanir Ambasidor to Lancre :).

The Prince is working at his desk in Kultis, dealing with the minutia of governing a land as far-flung as Lancre. Hearing galloping hooves and the shouting of voices outside, he stands up to stretch. It's probably just the usual noise and bustle of the castle grounds, but getting up from that paperwork feels sooo good.

There is a knock on the door, and his aide enters.

Aide: Sire, there is a messenger newly arrived from the Marillion. He wishes to speak with you at once.

Padma: Very well, Charles. Give me a minute, and then send him in.

Padma waits until Charles has gone, then stretches mightily for a moment. He wonders what is up in Vanir, that a messenger would arrive so urgently. He pauses to throw another log on the fire, and wraps his robes more tightly around him. He turns back to the door as he hears it open.

Messenger: M'lord, I have a message from Prince Grandmaster of Vanir. He asks your help in repulsing an invasion from the American state of Denver. The messenger hands over a rolled up piece of paper. He said to remind you that in addition to your obligation as a Knight of Vanir, he would like to see his old friend and, er, "boss", at his side again.

Padma chuckles at the last sentence. That sounds so like the young man he knew. He signals the messenger to wait, and breaks the seal on the paper. He scans the missive, his eyes widening in disbelief. Naerva beseiged? Perhaps fallen? Americans perhaps even now enroute toward Valhalla? He sighs, and looks up again.

Padma: Tell the new Prince we will come. Fortunately, the bulk of our mounted forces are nearby.

The messenger bows, and departs. Padma then turns to Charles, his aide.

Padma: Get me General Shabbaman. His "target practice" in Tsort may have to wait.

Loud noises in the hallway. The sound of guards shouting

Shabbaman: Get off of me, you worthless piece of crap!

The voice of General Shabbaman sounds like thunder, as he finds his way through the corridors. With a loud bang, the door swings open. Shabbaman enters, with several guardsmen on his tail

Shabbaman: Greetings, my Prince. We should do something with those midgets you call 'guards'! These men are unfit to serve as your protection!
You called for me, sire, so here I am!

Prince Padma laughs, and signals the still struggling guards to leave.

Padma: These men are fit for Lancrean duty, Sir Shabbaman. Fortunately, the Americans aren't as menacing to them as you are. It is good you are here. We have serious business to discuss!

Prince Padma hands over the message from Grandmaster

Shabbaman: That is bad news, my prince. It is apparent that our friend requires our assistance! It is time, that we end the American threat, and we should follow the same path to glory on which we find the trampled bodies of our former adversaries, the fledging Aztecs!
We must not forget though, that any reinforcements for the Denverites must travel over Lancrean soil.

And that is something they will regret!

We will unleash the horrors that lie hidden in Tsort Castle upon them!

Just bring them to the land of the darkness.

My humble followers will surely take care of them in the way they deserve *evilgrin* *manicallaughing*

Lord Padma, I come from Vanir to inquire abot somethig curious I have noticed abroad. It is no matter of great importance, but rather just for my information. There is a thread entitled "Lancre", in which Master Sa~Craig is asking about buying land. I have also noticed that he has started a Lancre "football" team. Am I missing something, or is he a legitimate part of Lancre?

In friendship,
Grandmaster, Prince Vanir

Master Sa~Craig is not a member of Lancre. I noted with amusement that he started a Lancre Football (soccer) Club, and chided him about "usurping" my title. ;)

I did agree to let him use the name for his Football Club.

Like you, I have no idea why he put his land query ito a thread he entitled "Lancre".

We may have to have words with this young man. ;)

Well, Vanirian troops are at your service to have a a few "words" with master Sa~Craig. ;)

"Football?" Bah.... American football is the real thing, that pansy sport they play over in Europe is just an imitation.... ;)

Pah!

Now, let's not forget the evil things the americans did to us, and now you are talking about American sports?

Them with the helmets?

And the protective thingies around them private parts?

And you call me, pansy?
