should abortion be allowed? Please offer your opinion on this subject.

I use the Golden Rule on this one: at what stage of deterioration would I need to be in - even if it could be healed - before I wouldn't want to be healed?

If I lost my arm or my eye or my legs - I'd want to be healed. But if my brain was destroyed (even if the rest of my body was still alive), I don't see keeping my body alive to be any use to me. In essence, my brain is 'me'.

So, until a fetus develops a brain (and there's a sticky area), it does not need to be alive. Any more than my skin cell needs to be alive. I don't cry if I intentionally kill a skin cell or some sperm, so there's nothing special about an embryo.

So, abortion should be allowed. Especially if the parent will be a bad parent, and the child will suffer unduely

*cracks the knuckles*

I feel and believe that abortions should not be alowed for it destroys the embryo which is in a sense a destruction of human life.

I have said it many times that I feel life beguins at conception and that we become human at the point where the embryo develops the neural plaine. I feel that it is wrong to kill an unborn child so in a sense, I am against abortions between conception to birth.

If you dont want the child, dont abort it. Just put it up for adoption and be more extrime careful when "fooling around".

anti-choice or pro-death? personally i'm anti-choice. i don't beleive its in anyones freedoms to decide when to end someone elses life. of course i'm not even close to 100% clear as to when life begins. i would have to say somewhere in the first trimester, but i woulnd't pass any legislation on that.

Everyone (except suicidal people) are pro-life. And everyone (except extreme doubters) are Pro-choice.

Please chose better terms for the options as they make no sense at all.
Pro-choice-of-abortion, and Anti-choice-of-abortion? A bit of a mouthful, but that seems to be question being asked. I agree that the terms "pro-choice" and "pro-life" are misleading (especially since "should abortion be allowed?" is a different question to "is abortion ethical?").

As well, I feel that if a parent intends to keep a child, they have a moral duty to give that child the most healthy environment the parent can. This means that I'm not 'pro-choice' when it comes to drinking/sniffing glue/etc. while pregnant.

what no poll?

anyways my views are that abortion is perfectly fine, its not like christians have to pay for others sins

I think it should be discouraged if it lead to people not taking responsibility for their actions, but I don't think it's a "right or wrong" issue. The only problem I have with abortion is the responsiblity issue.

Pro-Life, but tired of arguing.

Maybe if someone says something really stupid or juicy I'll join in, but if not, I'll let the rest of you guys take it.

My issue with the 'responsibility issue' is that you're punishing foolish parents (sure, I can see that, you're forcing them to suffer for being stupid), but you're also potentially making a child suffer in order to make the foolish parents suffer.

That doesn't seem right to me.

oh, and real men use polls.

same here, i dont feel like arguing when noone ever changes what they feel because of some words and an avatar

Both. :)

I'm against abortion on principle, and historically its legalization corresponds with lower rates.

I'm not a woman so I don't care.

yes but are you also impotent?

if you are then it affects you

Also, if youre the father of the unborn child it also effects you as well. To me in this pro-abortion society that the men have no say in regards to the fait of their child. I mean it is half of his genes.
