Problem installing BTS Patch 3.19

I've been having alot of trouble installing patch 3.19. After being asked to install patch 3.19 to access online play, I downloaded the patch, but when I started the installation and pressed install, the installer quit itself. After this I decided to download the patch somewhere else, I tried gamespot, yet the installer had the same problem...

I have Patch 3.17 installed (3.1.3.1) and Have both Vanilla Civ 4 and BTS.

I bought Vanilla Civilizatrion 4 from a store and downloaded BTS from gametap (download to own). Can anyone Help?

hi, i have this problem too, unfortunately what you describe thomasstuart doesn't happen on my XP, after i empy windows/temp and inizialize the patch process no new folders appear.
 
I've got the same problem as well. If 3.1.3.1 is the same as 3.17, then I've already got 3.17, and downloading 3.19 works fine.

I have Windows 7, and whether I run as administrator or not, I get the same result:

It has me read the terms and agreements, and asks if I want to be registered to some website (I click no for that, it shouldn't matter for installation), and then it says, click Install to begin. When I click install, the window closes, but the installation window never opens. Nothing opens, nothing loads, it just acts as if I never started the installation.

I have a similar problem, I have tried downloading it through the update check and the patch mirrors and when it comes to installing it it doesn't open an installation window.
 
Okay this sounds insane, so it took me a long while to try it even after googling a bunch of threads. I had this exact issue, windows xp, nothing else wrong with my system I could think of.

I saw a lot of people saying to install 3.17 first, so I finally decided to try installing 3.17 over 3.17 then retrying the 3.19 patch... and it all worked. It doesn't even make sense. But it worked.
 
If your problem is like mine, SalmonSoil, then you may have a half installed version, or corrupt, or whatever mine was. Get rid of that, then find one compatible with where you got your copy of the game. Depending on where you got it, it may be hard to find a compatible one. I got mine from the Gamestop website, and had to search forever to find a patch that works with it, but it's out there.

My fault, I used the wrong language ;)

So here is a solution for that patch problem:
Install 3.17 again and then 3.19, if its working thank Raern for this and buy him a christmas present :)

Hab mir jetzt auch extra einen Account erstellt, schaue eh öfter hier rein ;)

Die Sache mit Patch 3.17 downloaden und drüberinstallieren funktioniert!
Es ist befremdlich, aber ich beschwer mich nicht^^

Jetzt kann ich endlich Civ genießen ohne dass die DVD im Laufwerk Party macht oder kyrillische Runen mein Auge stören :P
