Hi, I am a new member of the forum, but I have been looking at it for a long time (several years). It happened that if someone had a problem with the saved game, generally he could rely on someone's help.
I have a saved game (about 450 tur / 900 turns) and when the game loads, when the main game screen is playing, after pressing enter (new turn) the game freezes - nothing happens. However, if I start the autosave game (two rounds earlier) it can not be loaded into the main game screen at all.
Perhaps there has been a error in the game that prevents me from further entertainment (and I saw on the forum that error may be eg. appearing storms or units in banned places, and many others).
As I am not an IT specialist and I totally do not know anything, I rely on your help in solving the problem.
In the attachment I am sending the saved game (Caveman2Cosmos_v38.1). If you think that you would also need an autosaved game, I can also share it.
I really want to regain the game because I spent a lot of time and I do not want to be wasted, the more that I'm in the era that interests me most. And here is such a error (why me?!).

First, you are playing outdated version.

Second, there was breaking savegame compatibility from V38.1 to V38.5 due to serious bugs introduced in V38.1 and fixed in V38.5.

Third, mod folder MUST be Caveman2Cosmos

I think everything is fine, as evidence I present pintscreen.

I always started the game through My Games -> Beyond The Sword -> Saves -> Single -> Menzies...

I last played last weekend, today I can not continue playing

If you were playing on V38.1, then update broke savegames.
You need to start new game if you are playing on V38.5

Yep save is from V38.1 meaning its absolutely useless now.

There is message about broken savegame compatibility, that popups instantly if you try to load this savegame in V38.5.
Basically you can delete your saves and start new game in V38.5.

If we didn't break savegame compatibility, then variety of serious AI breaking bugs could be in saved game.

Well

now I understand why it stopped working at some point.

It is a pity that there is no way to recover savegame from an earlier version, so that it would work in a new version, but I understand that the changes are too extensive.

I have nothing left but to start the adventure again!

thanks for the explanation
