Hey....any place where I can buy the fastest processor for a Pentium 2 (I believe its 450 mhz)? I wanna max out this old comp I got, and first I need to up the proc to its max.

Check out all the used computer shops in the area. If you're looking for brand new, try...I dunno, ebay or just type in the processor you want ina google search and buy online.

No, PII's stopped at 450mhz.. P3's started at 450mhz and went up to 1.4ghz(Tualatin core though)...

I've got a PII350, and am hoping to upgrade the CPU to a PIII750 ish. They do go higher, but it depends on your chipset, and hence the slot type.

I bought the latest chipset that was available when I got my 350 (BX perhaps?), so I can have up to a 133MHz bus.

Anyhoo, Ebay is probably your best bet.

He probably meant that the 450mhz was overclocked to 766mhz.

Yes but considering how expensive the old chips are sold on ebay... No kidding, I already saw P2@350 sold at a higher price than a brand new duron @ 1.2ghz... People are damn crazy.

So I could sell my 200mhz K6 for lotsa ca$h? I should keep it for a few years then sell it!

Top speed of a P2 depends on chip set type - specifically, whether board runs at 66Mhz or higher for later P2s and early P3s.

On Ebay, typically the "top" processor for a given chip set achieves premium price because many people want fastest processor without changing motherboard.
