Proposal: New Forum - Multiplayer

I guessed I should have posted this here instead. The response in the General Discussions forum was not the overwhelming wave of support I had hoped for. But I honestly think that as things heat up with the new expansion pack, this will become a valid, active topic.

I think we should already have a forum in place to discuss ideas, basic guidelines and all of the typical details that come up. This would also be a nice place for Firaxians to come and see what we've come up with here.

Some suggested sub-forums:
General
Open Challenges
Clans
Civ 3 Ladder (with a sub-forum for Results)
Technical Issues
Multiplayer Maps & Mods

It's a good idea, and most of it will probably be implemented. However, TF will want to wait a bit and think about what to implement since that many subforums would be a BIG pain to moderate.

Solution, like Octavian is implying, is to get more mods. I think it's a good idea although agreed that's it's still early. Maybe one month before launch.

I think TF's method of using two or more, esp. for the large and "moderation needed" Forums like Civ 3 and the Colossem Forums, is good.

Subforums themselves are no more or less a pain to moderate, assuming number & types of posts to be equal. A sub forum just pre-sorts the post into a related area.

TF's got it under control, he won't let you fall through the multiplaying cracks.

I guess it's going to take some time for the rest of my suggestions to find justification. I expect the clans will be the next big forum to come into being.

Bah, the MP forum had been planned for a few weeks before this thread was even made

It was in a secret forum however.

You are more than welcome to form clans when MP is out but there may not be a forum for them.

A sub-forum is a forum physically WITHIN a specific forum. Click on the "Civ3 Creation & Customization" forum to see the numerous sub-forums. (examples- completed modpacks, unit graphics, utility programs etc.)
