Proposed Amendment to Provincial Border...

I will post a larger map for inclusion with the poll. I should have it up within 30mins of this post.

The reason why I did not want to include this proposal as part of a more comprehensive border proposal, is because this small modification makes the southeastern provincial borders consistent with the natural terrain.

I actually have additional provinces drawn out for the territory immediately to the west and east and I intend to post a thread to that effect sometime today.

As far as the incorporation of Bavaria into the northern province and calling that Bohemia, that's fine with me, but if I was involved with the RPG, though, I'd demand a change in pay for all the extra work. :)

i would put the left borderline a bit further to the sw, 1 tile i would propose. also for the other province. this way there would be a straight western borderline of both provinces and Eklektikopitlan would not be directly at the provincial border.

What you propose would indeed provide a straight border and move Eklektochtitlan one tile further inside, but it would not be consistent with the underlying natural georgraphical border present there. There is a river which runs roughly from beyond Octavinium down to Eklektochtitlan which is why the border was drawn where it was.

PS. Try saying Eklektochtitlan that many times without twisting your tongue into a knot... :)

Unfortunately, the fact that cities benefit greatly by being adjacent to rivers will undoubtedly result in several cities falling right on the edge of our provincial borders. It really shouldn't matter too much as long as cooler heads prevail and our provincial governors allow some leeway in tile management for those border towns.

Donsig: I'll second that poll!!

FortyJ: NO, lets not extend the border. Why don't we create a new and useless province witrh only one city. Then, when we realise what a STUPID idea this was we can stuff about and call it a district and wait for the provincial system to collapse!

FortyJ again (but serious now): I can see your concern about the tile useage, but I have some experience as a governor (5 terms) and never once did it come up as an issue! We can only hope the trend continues!

What evidence is there that a single city province is either worthless or STUPID?

A majority of citizens disagreed with that as demonstrated in two seperate polls.

Maybe it is stupid, and I really don't care either way, and I will be happy to see another proposal brought forward that is better, especially if a majority of citizens support it. But I have yet to see a real argument to explain why a single city province is bad, other than somehow this one governor we have is so indespensable to our future that we had better overturn everything to make sure he is happy.

The energy that has gone into whining about the provinces would have been far better served being applied to city placement discussions, or even the border definitions in the first place.

That's just my opinion.

I think I've just come up with an excellent word to describe our democracy game...

Ironic

If you don't like the damn borders, get some discussion (without whining!) and get it changed! If you can't, live with it!

I'm sorry in advance...
