PTW - US Patch(S)

Having recently purchased PTW, was slighty surprised to see 2 patches out for it already.
the version is for the USA only!!??

Can anyone advise when there will be patches available for the
UK/Europe.?



Also just as a matter of interest why does it take games/patches
so long to be come available in the UK, I had the same sort of delay with Ice wind dale 11.

I guess the time taken to put out patches for non-US is delayed because US is biggest market and one patch covers the whole area - wheras in europe you need different patches for different language versions so takes longer - its annoying though - I won't consider buying PTW until there is a working patch.

AFAIK, US patch works fine with UK version. Maybe everything will be translated into US English though :lol.

US English is one of the few things that you guys do better


Will try the patch later and blame you if it crashes.

I don't think so. All across Europe a "European English" PTW was sold which does not work with the "US English" patch. As far as I remember there was a quotation from a Infrogames Europe employee (on civ3.de) which stated that the "European English" version is actually the "UK version", and that differs from the "US version". (See "edit" below.)

However, there is a 1.14f patch for the "European version" on www.civ3.de (on the top of the page, right hand; you can find it without understanding German...). This might be the right one for your UK version, bholed.

Edit: The quotation was actually from Barry Caudill, Firaxis person responsible for quality management or something like that (sorry for my imperfect translation from German to English...). It can be found on the main paige of civ3.de, but is written in German.

bholed. WHERE DID YOU GET PTW FROM?! I thought it wasn't supposed to be coming out till 13th Dec.?
