"This story takes place some time after Ash and his friends leave for the Johto League. Ash is going home to visit his mom for a little while. It’s just before Ken realizes he’s not to be the Digimon Emperor anymore.

One day, as Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu were walking down a path, about to enter Pallet Town, they saw a hole in the middle of Ash’s house wall. Mr. Mime was sweeping the sidewalk, as usual, but Ash’s mom was standing outside looking at the strange hole, wondering what it was doing there. Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu walked to Ash’s mom.
“What’s goin’ on?” Ash asked his mom.
“I don’t know,” Ash’s mom replied, “It just appeared here earlier today.”
“I wonder what’s on the other side,” Misty said. Then Togepi jumped out of Misty’s arms and ran toward the hole. “Come back, Togepi.” Misty ran after Togepi, but it had already gone into the hole. Misty followed it into the hole.
“Misty!” Ash yelled to Misty and ran after her.
“I’d better go, too,” Brock said and followed Ash in. Pikachu followed Brock.
“Ash!” Ash’s mom called after them. “Prof. Oak won’t be happy.” Ash’s mom went into the house and called Prof. Oak.
“What?” Prof. Oak said with a shock.
“That’s right. A hole popped out of nowhere, and a little later, Ash and his friend went through it,” Ash’s mom explained.
“This is really odd. Who know where they could’ve gone.”
“I just hope Ash is okay.” Ash’s mom said, a little worriedly.
A little later, Team Rocket came up to the house, supporting themselves with sticks, tired from all their traveling. They saw the hole, and were immediately excited. They hid behind a bush, and smiled.
“The twerp’s Pikachu must be inside. Let’s grab it.” Jessie said.
“But, Jessie, wont his mom see us. She’s inside.” James said.
* “James, you worry too much.” Meowth said. * Meowth has his usual accent.
James looked at Meowth angrily and said, “Shut up, Meowth.” James began to stomp on Meowth.
Meowth got up and said, “Well, let’s go get dat Pikachu. Whaddaya wait’n for, let’s go.” Meowth ran into the hole.
“Wait, Meowth!” Jessie and James said at the same time, but Meowth had already gone through it. Jessie and James ran after him went thought the hole. What Ash, his friends, and Team Rocket didn’t realize was that something strange would be on the other side.
Shortly after Ash and his friends went thought the hole, they landed on the other side in a strange city. They all landed piled up with Togepi standing on top of them.
“Toge, Toge, piii!” Togepi said, cheerfully.
“Kaaa,” Pikachu sighed in relief. Everyone got up and dusted him or herself off.
“Don’t do that again, okay, Togepi?” Misty said as she picked up Togepi.
“Toge.” Togepi said as if it were saying ‘Okay’.
“Now, let’s figure out were we are.” Brock said. Everyone looked around. Suddenly, Team Rocket came falling out of the hole and landed on top of Ash and his friends. The hole closed on both sides.
“Piiiii!” Pikachu said, angrily, looking as if it was charging up for a ThunderShock.
James looked forward a little and said, “Hey, look, it’s Pikachu.” Everyone jumped up.
“Prepare for trouble.” Jessie started the motto.
“And make that double.” James continued after Jessie.
“To protect the world from devastation...”
“To unite all peoples within our nation...”
“To denounce the evils of truth and love...”
“To extend our reach to the stars above.”
“Blah blah blah…it gets old ya know?” Ash said, interrupting Team Rocket.
“How dare you interrupt us? Let us finish and then you talk. As, we were saying, Jessie.”
