Pyramids made of ancient concrete

There's a theory I read yesterday on the newspaper saying that the stone of the pyramids were reconstitued like concrete. Ancient Egyptians used planks and bronze blades to mould these stones... Anyone amazed !!!
These theory was even pulled out in the times of Louis XIV. If somebody ask I will upload the french article.

This theorie is quite old, but recently some new evidences in favour of it had been discovered.

Having been to the Pyramids I'd be astonished that anyone could think that the limestone blocks they're made from are concrete

Read about this a couple of days ago as well - unfortunately, the article was in German, so I won't post it :D

In a nutshell, the stones aren't concrete, but a synthetic limestone that can be moulded like concrete.
Seems they've chemically analysed the stones of the pyramids and, while they are definitely limestone, the chemical structure is that of synthetically manufactured limestone as opposed to naturally occurring limestone.

Personally, I wasn't aware that it's even possible to synthesize limestone :crazyeye: ... but if the experts say so...
Anyway, it seems logical that you can't see the difference with the naked eye.

It makes sense, since cement is baked limestone at its base. You are sand to make mortar and stone to make concrete. Reconsider the concept substituting "plaster" for "concrete", and assume the result was limestone colored rather than white.

I think it is possible, there's evidence that the ancient Egyptians invented hydraulic cement. Read the Wikipedia article here. go to the achievements and unsolved problems subtopic and the 2nd paragraph says the Egyptians invented hydraulic cement.
