Starting with a fresh install of Civ4, then patching; then installing BTS, and patching. I receive the following error when trying to start hosting a Pitboss game, which I believe is the error that is making other not being able to join by IP.

Init Progress - step 5 / 9 - Init Python
'import site' failed; use -v for traceback

Any possibilites on how to fix this? Running Win7 if it helps.

I believe I have never ever started any pitboss.exe without reading that
'import site' failed; use -v for traceback
line.

I'm ignoring this since... well ... ever since.

People can join my pitboss games though.

P.S.: <crystall ball>Sounds more like a router/portforwarding problem to me.</crystal ball> Do you know about internal and external(public) IP-addresses? How to set up portforwarding? Do you have a router or is your Windows 7 machine directly hooked up to the internet?

P.P.S.: I saw it on W2k, Win XP, Win Vista, Gentoo+wine, Debian+wine

Yep, I currently have UPnP enabled, as well as having port 2056 open for Civ.

I was using http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to check the game after starting pitboss, and every time it returned that it could see the service on port 2056. Maybe it's possible other /could/ join me, it just wasn't reporting?

Yeah, that's where I was confused, because when I run the check on the Civ4 port while pitboss is running, it doesn't detect anything at all on the port.
