I have several Q. about modship
Note: I do not in any way shape or form endorse argueing with mods. Nor do I hate mods. (heck I'm always going through the forums looking for closed threads to read)

1. What is the differnce between a normal mod. and a super mod.?

2. If for some stupid reason I became a mod (chances for me becoming a mod.: 1 in 10 billion, agaisnt: 10 billion to 1) could I see what was written in this thread

BTW what does DL stand for.

I have one more Q. but I know it won't get anwsered because of mod. policy.:(

I'm not a mod, so I'm not 100% sure about this, but here goes:

1. A normal mod is assigned to certain forums, while a super mod can moderate the entire forums. Technically, a normal mod can do certain things outside of his/her forum, but it's usually only in emergencies.

2. You mean before it was edited? No. Only an administrator can see what is written before edits.

3. If you have a complaint or specific question about a moderator's actions (which I'm assuming is what you have in mind), you can always PM or email a mod. Wheras it's not good to go ranting off about a mod to the public, they usually allow you to say whatever you want in a PM. (I think.) As long as it's not offensive gibberish, of course.

Not ranting, not ranting. I do not have a complaint about mods. or any action they have taken ( none of their actions have bothered me so...)

WillJ got most of it. ;)

A "DL" is a "Duplicate Logon", known at some sites as an "Alter Ego". From our Forum Rules:
Multiple accounts are not permitted.
Create one account, make sure you're satisfied with the name, and keep it. Be sure to choose your user name carefully. If you wish to change your user name for whatever reason, please contact Thunderfall.
and
Respect the authority of moderators
Public discussions of moderator actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private. If it's not resolved or if you don't receive a reply from the moderator after 24 hours, you can then PM or email Thunderfall.

Edit: The last is not directed *at* you, but more as further clarification of what WillJ said. :)

I've seen quite a lot of vBulletin sites that have ostensibly unmoderated fora, so I don't think that's the answer. That said, I'm damned if I know what is ;)

Erm.... Because? :crazyeye:

Actually, I think VBulletin just wants every forum to have a mod. It doesn't care if it's locked or archived, it just want to have that "Moderated by" field with a name in it. ;)

Im not sure if it is a good thing or not. But possibly they could revive old archived threads and pulls them into an active froum section (Though I doubt that would happen since I see the Demogame, once finished, gets archived and locked away).

Though Im guessing its a Vb bug.

I always just assumed it's because Thunderfall never bothered removing the mods for those forums. I mean, why bother? It's not like it's harming anything.

Okay. I just mentioned that because that's the main reason I could see not wanting to ask a question because of being against the rules.
