Many old mods don't work any more. Quite a few mods, such as Queen of the Iceni, were made back when the game first came out and were then abandoned by their creators. As such, later changes to the VFS (December 2010) and TXT_KEY overlap rules (March 2011) made many of those early mods incompatible with the current game engine.

Basically, if you're interested in a mod, look for its thread on this site. If it doesn't have one, or if its thread here hasn't been touched in months, then you can generally assume the mod won't work.
