Question about Deluxe edition and DLC

Hi, I bought the Digital deluxe edition of civ 6 because it said I would get the first 4 dlc at a discount price. My Steam store is not in US dollars, so these are just estimates, but I paid around $20 more than I would have paid for the base game, and so far both dlc cost around $5 each. Will this be the price of the other dlc, because in that case buying the digital deluxe was probably pointless. Or maybe this is just a problem in my region and in other steam regions the price of the deluxe edition is actually worth it?
I was probably going to buy all dlc anyway since I love the game, but this just seems a bit odd to me.
Also, will we get more civilizations? Im not really a fan of scenarios or maps but at least the vikings dlc had some city-states with nice bonuses.

If both the next 2 DLC cost the same as the last two, there will effectively be no discount to the cost of the DLC from buying the deluxe edition.

My hope is that this tells us that one of the next two DLC will be more substantial than a simple civ & scenario pack.

I expect at least one of the next two will cost $7.50. Of course, this doesn't fully cover some countries, such as the U.K., where I've heard it cost £20, but the DLC sell for £4 each.

Of course, they can argue the anniversary soundtrack has value.

As I said in the last thread we had about this topic, the Deluxe Edition also comes with the Digital Music Download too. So it depends on how much you personally value that download, as to whether it was worth buying the Deluxe Edition.

Using US dollars, the Deluxe Edition cost $20.00 more than the Standard Edition. The first 2 DLCs cost $4.99 each. If the next 2 DLCs follow suit, the 4 will total $19.96. So if you consider the music download to be worth $.04 or more, then it was better for you that you bought the DE.

I for one had no interest in the music download, so I bought the Standard Edition and took the chance that I wouldn't spend much more than $20.00 on the first 4 DLCs. So far I think I made the right decision.

Since they haven't put a price on the soundtrack, it's hard to say if that counts as part of the "discount against purchasing separately".

Personally, I suspect the 4th DLC will cost $10 and feature 2 civs or 3 alternate leaders.

How can I download or access the soundtrack? I had never bought any game with soundtrack before on steam so I'm not sure where to find it.

Since I was surprised and it didn't come w/ Baba Yetu or Sogno di Volare my personal value for that disappointing bonus item was $0.00.

I am hopeful that the prediction that at least one of the DLC's will be over $5.00 US will come true - so that there was some kind of savings.

It can be found as a folder in game files. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\DLC\Sid Meier's Civilization 25th Anniversary Soundtrack

It's right there in the description (and is still available to this day):

Expand your empire further with the Civilization VI Digital Deluxe which includes the full base game, the 25th Anniversary Digital Soundtrack, and access to four post-launch DLC packs* that will add new maps, scenarios, civilizations and leaders for a bundled discount.

*Save vs buying DLC packs a la carte. Individual DLC may be sold separately. If you purchase the Digital Deluxe, do not also purchase these standalone packs, as you will be charged for them.

The bundled discount refers to the four-post DLC packs which are described as being separate to the soundtrack. There is absolutely no reason to assume the rest of the DLC will all cost $5, and it would make no sense at all for Firaxis to price them separately as less than that, since it'd be false advertising :P.

There is no need to be concerned at this stage...

The quote specifically mentions the soundtrack so that is definitely included as an item of value, regardless of people's own valuation of that.

Indeed, but it is mentioned separately to the four DLC packs, which is what is explicitly described as having the bundled discount in the footnote.

Yes you're right, I missed that.

I was just doing a basic math equation

The price of the DE - the price of the SE = $20.00
The content of the DE - the content of the SE = 4 DLCS + 1 Music Download
Therefore, if the price of the 4 DLCs + 1 Music Download > $20.00, then it's profitable to have purchased the DE

So far the first 2 DLC have a combined price of $9.98, we don't yet know the price of the last 2 DLCs, and the value of the Music Download is up to each person's separate opinion (the "ear" of the beholder, if you will).

If the last 2 DLCs are the same as the first 2, and you personally value the Music Download at > 4¢, then it's worthwhile.
If the last 2 DLCs are more expensive than the first 2, then your personal valuation of the Music Download is irrelevant since you've already come out ahead.
If the last 2 DLCs are < or = the first 2 and you value the Music Download at < 4¢, then you lose out.

I think that the soundtrack does not count into the money saved by buying the DE. The soundtrack is accessible for free on YouTube (official channel), which really devalues it. The official description of the DE says that you will "save vs buying 4 DLCs separately", so the soundtrack is out of the equation since it doesn't seem like you can purchase them separately. I believe that the next DLCs should be priced more than $4.99, otherwise it's seriously false marketing.

That is assuming they are referring to saving money; they might have actually been referring to having saved time. ;)

I thought the deluxe also had Aztec's, that will otherwise be 90 days after release for others?

Now I wonder..
if, turns out the total of 4 DLCs doesn't cost more significantly than the amount of DE player bought...
can they not be sued for false advertising or smth like that?

If it's indeed sueable, it'll be a horrific decision for them to release another DLC that worth like Poland & Viking Scenario (or less)

You can always file a law suit, but there's no guarantee that you'll win, or
even that the matter will be heard if a court decides it's not significant enough.
A loss could also mean that costs are awarded against you. So, do you feel lucky, punk? :)

I don't think that it would be a difficult case to win and it would certainly qualify as a class action. I don't think that Firaxis/2K are stupid enough to let that happen.
