Question about earning experience

Can your unit continue to earn experience if you don't take a promotion? It was stated a while ago, that you don't earn any more experience unless you take the promotion and I'm wondering if that is still the case. A lot of the Let's Play games featured promotions not taken because the player didn't want to lose time by using a whole turn to take a promotion.

That's still the case unless it changes with the release build.

Nope, the trade off for not taking the promotion now is it doesn't get XP until it takes the promotion.
While the promotion ends the turn, you don't have to have full movement points to take it though; as long as you have any MP left you can move and promote the same turn.
