[C3C] Question about which patches to apply

I'm installing Civ 3 again after a long time without it.

I can't remember if I need to install all patches or just the Conquests 1.22 patch.

I have discs. Civ 3 Gold edition (Civ 3 and PTW) and the Conquests disc.

After I install Civ 3 Gold Edition do I need to run the patches for Civ 3 and PTW before installing Conquests? Or should I just install conquests straight away and then run the Conquests 1.22 patch (ie. ignoring the first two patches)?

AFAIK, the patches refer only to the .exe files for each release of the game, so I believe you should only need to install the patch(es) for the game(s) you want to play.

i.e. if you only want to play Civ3Conquests (or Mods thereof), you'd only need the Civ3conqests.exe v.1.22 (NoCD) patch, and you can leave the Vanilla and PtW .exes languishing at whatever patch-level Civ3Gold provided them.

Conversely, if you also wanted to participate in the CFC GotM (which requires PtW), or run Mods made specifically for PtW (I think there are still a few floating around), then you'd also need to install the Civilization3X.exe v.1.27 (NoCD) patch.

Ah thanks. That's funny. So since I use a no cd crack then patches aren't needed. I never realised.
