Chieftain
I am using Vanilla Civ. I recently patched to 1.29f.
Last night I was playing as the Egytians in a regent level game, standard continents map. I was near the end of the Ancient Age (about 800 bc I think). I was sharing a relatively small continent with Rome. Due to my starting position Rome more or less had my original core blocked off on a peninsula. I had managed to sneak a number of settlers around them and build up on their other side. Roman territory was almost cutting my land in half though. To correct this ackward state of affairs I decided to eleminate Ceaser. I hit him with a stack of about 10 swordsmen, which proved very effective. The one problme that I encountered is that about 4 or his cities that were at size one, after I had captured them, just were destroyed. There was no option given to choose between raizing and installing my own governor.
I've never seen this happen before. Is this something new that changed withthe patch or somethign that only happens under very special conditions? I know I've captured enemy cities that were at size one before, without problem. What's going on here?
