[Question] Civilizeditor Features

wow, just wow. I can't wait for the warlords version. Great work Lopez :)

I normally don't participate in resurrected topics, but I have to comment...

Why didn't TheLopez just release the early beta version of this to the whole community before he decided to disappear? I always have a billion ideas for modding the game and have some XML knowledge, but it is so long and tedious to do all of the XML by hand... The only existing Civilization editor we have is a non-updated XML editor (that is VERY limited) released a long time ago.

There was speculation that TheLopez quit making a Civ editor because one was to be released with BTS, but it appears as though it was indeed just mere speculation.

I give all due respect to TheLopez for the great work he has done for the community, but in my opinion it is just wrong to advertise such a great new utility, release a early beta to a select few, get a large number of people (including myself) to anticipate its release, then completely stop all work on it and leave everyone else hanging. You're better off not even starting a project than to get everyone's hopes up and quit.

If there indeed is a functioning Civilization editor out there, or if BTS does come with one, or if TheLopez did release a version of this in some obscure place, please fill me in about it! Otherwise I will just have to keep my fingers crossed and keep hoping that TheLopez will return and finish this or someone somewhere in this crazy world will create one.

That's the nature of the internet. Most big projects, whether mods or stories, never get finished. You just have to learn not to get your hopes up.

I honestly think Lopez is putting this into BTS. He disappeared soon after some very complimentary compliments from ThunderFall(A civ developer), and since modability has always been a selling point for Civilization hiring a person like Lopez to make a integrated modding utility would make perfect since. I might be wrong but I believe it makes since.

I bought beyond the sword last friday 20th of july here in the UK , i,ve installed it, sorry people sadly there is no editor in this expansion , i also have the warlords expansion .

Thunderfall is the website administrator, he has absolutely nothing to do with Firaxis Games.

Hi, I was just wondering what the latest on the civilizeditor was. It's been some time since we heard an update and I was keen on knowing how the beta-testing was going and when it might be ready.
Not that I want to put pressure on anyone or anything.
