Edit : of course it's PURELY hypthetical. In reality, I would refuse to make such a choice and find a way to crush the nose of the one who asked it to me.

There are 6 billions humans out there, it isn't very likely that a human I know will die...

Of course all humans and animals I know personally are more woth for me than those I don't know


BTW: I think an anilas has the same rigth to live as a human, and i think they are equal.
But i eat anmial to live, animal eat themselves too.. i wouldn't eat humans, but I thinks that's only because of our society. A Muslim who never ate pork get's sick at the thought of pork...

What i wanted to say is that it is only natural that every living beeing which we know personaly is mor important for us than every living beeing we don't know!

Why should a unknown human be more worth for me than a known animal?

I don't see why the human should be more improtant than an animal, in fact we are of same kind!

I think I must have fallen through some kind of eddy in the space-time continuum... How is this poll at 19-19? I know there are a lot of losers out there whose pets are some sort of surrogate for a real human relationship, but please! If the question were reversed and you had to choose between some random animal and a family member, what would you pick? Don't you think the random person you murdered in this poll has family members/loved ones as well? I'm convinced Darwin was off his rocker if 50% of the human race would prefer to save another species at the expense of his/her own.

I am so envious of your obvious superiority. How can I possibly attain your pinnacle of perfection? Please, tell me!

If it's any of your business, I don't need a surrogate for real human relationships. I'm very happily married, and don't live in a cave (ie, I have friends). But don't let all that get in the way of your pre-conceived notions...

Why should a relationship to an animal be a loser-thing?
I can't get that...

If the question is if a family member or my pet shoud die it's a hard thing, but I think then I would pick the pet to die, but i think after such a desicion you became a psycho or maniac anyway..
BTW: I'm sure then I would go and kill the one who forced me to make this desicion!
