Questions About CIV4 Compatibility

Will Civ4 be MAC compatible and will pc users and mac users be able to play multiplayer together? Thanks in advance

I haven't even heard that a Mac version is planned.

I haven't either, but I guess it all depends on what the publisher says, which thus far has been nothing.

I heard that it was coming out on Mac first - I thought I heard it on this site - as official news. But I don't recall correctly. Now I'm doubtful, since if they do a Mac release at all, it would seem pertinent to release on Windows first due to the larger market.

Perhaps I misunderstood something about Civ4 being designed to ease it's release on Mac?

The Gamebryo engine that Firaxis is using for Civ4 doesn't support the Mac. Unless and until NDL makes a version of it for the Mac, it would be very hard (and potentially illegal - due to licensing agreements) to make a Mac port.
