We are currently doing final testing of the Mac version and will release BUG 4.1 for both PC and Mac very soon.

what are the white numbers on the far right of the scoreboard? see attached. is there a way to turn them off?

i have bug installed in custom assets. i'm playing a personal mod in single player. i recently updated to bug 4.0. had not seen those white numbers on right side with older version.

thanks for any help

They are city counts. You can remove them by visiting the wiki (see my sig) to determine the scoreboard code that puts in city counts and then removing that character ... I cannot remember what it is but I would be surprised if it wasn't 'C'.

Edit: wow - that is a lot of cities for not much score. Maybe my 'off the cuff' answer isn't correct.

thanks for the quick reply.

yes it is a city count. the scoreboard code is q for that info

thanks again for the help, and for all the time and effort you folks have put into this great additon for civ4

I've always wondered why Bug Mod doesn't seem to work when I play a game online. Any chance of fixing this in the future? I guess it's more complicated than it seems.

Some people have gotten it to work, but I don't know the secret. People only report when they have a problem--they don't follow up with what they did to fix it. :( AFAIK you only need to use the Multiplayer install and of course everyone must have the exact same version installed. Maybe you need to check Lock Modified Assets on the game? I think that's automatic though.

What specifically doesn't work when you try to get a game going?

I've played other mods via pbem (should be the same for other multiplayer games) so it should work for BUG.

I play with BUG online all the time. Installed as a mod with all players using the same mod, I have no problems. Direct IP games only, no players having anything in custom assets.

Hmm, well I guess then it may be possible. I'll check with my team-mates about trying to run this as a mod then. I guess we all have to agree or it's a fail.

If anyone doesn't want to use BUG, they can turn off all the features. But who would be so silly?

Or if someone has a problem some of the features, then you can pick and choose as well. Again, don't know if any that would troublesome enough to turn off though.

Brilliant. Looking forward to it as I've switched from playing BTS with BUG on bootcamp to the native Mac version.

I have BAT 2.0 installed, with the installer included. can I install 4.1 on top of it overwriting or do I need to uninstall and then reinstall the new one?

You may be able to copy the folders out of the ZIP into BAT, overwriting files along the way.

Please don't post in this thread. Use the Questions thread to ask questions.

I have BAT 2.0 installed with the installer so I load it as a mod.
How can I upgade BUG4.0 to 4.1? Do i run the installer or copy paste and overwrite
or do I have to unistall BUG 4.0 before i can install 4.1? will the be a new version of BAT
anytime soon with VD being4.5 now?

  1. Download the ZIP archive and unpack it.
  2. Copy the contents of its Assets folder into BAT's Assets folder, overwriting all files (click Yes to All).

First, thanks to the BUG developers for all their work.

I'm new to BUG since I play on a Mac (thanks for the port), and I have a question about the files in the maps folder. Are they replacement scripts for the factory maps? Is there a page somewhere that describes them? I poked around a bit and didn't see anything.

I'm wondering because I play mostly tectonics maps these days, and I'm curious if they'll be different with BUG installed.
