questions and picture requests

Hi c2c moders,I remember I read somewhere on here that c2c now has a real time style/mode play like in Warcraft/starcraft/empire earth, is this true? Yes? or no? and can someone post pictures of all the future eras city graphics for world/underwater sea citys/space/moon/other planets please and scifi or futuristic goverments/civics. If the cities all look sort of like modern era cities, then perhaps post future era buildings like a city dome/city shield force field or a arcology/arcology building please.

No.
 
Within the span of a turn, if you want to be taking the turn at the same time as the AI players, you can always set up a multiplayer game and be the only human player in it. That's as close as it gets and it does introduce a bit or RTS because you can time when you send defenders into the city (such as after all the collateral has already hit) if you're watching and timing things closely during the turn. But that doesn't make it a true RTS by any means. It's still a turn based game.
 
I started playing Civ4 specifically because it WASN'T RTS. It may have it merits, but overall, I just never got into them. I could not imagine CTC as RTS.
 
Empire Earth and Rise of Nations Etended were closest to RTS version of Civilization.

You will need NASA supercomputer to play on properly sized planet with thousands of units and tens of nicely scaled cities per civilization, if you wanted RTS Caveman2Cosmos.
 
OK, thanks for answering but no pics that I requested were posted. please post them or if none of you canot let me know. keep up the good work, I almost cant wait to play this once its complete or at least multimaps/final frontier map is added. hopefully the turn times are speeded up or go much faster as well.

You do understand that this (complete mod or multimaps) may take a decade to come to fruition?
I don't want you to have unrealistic expectations and get disappointed. I'm not saying it won't come to fruition one day, just don't hold your breath is all.

Thread about it was made in September 2007.

Caveman2Comsos existed since August 2008 as modmod for Rise of Mankind, then as modmod of RoM: A New Dawn (somewhere in late 2010/2011, when Zappara left for good) before gaining full independence.

Basically you can stretch it to 11 years, 10 years is pretty safe to say so and 7 years if you count full independence under its own subforum of Caveman2Cosmos.
January 2007 (Rise of Mankind being under planning/development, no public release) - January 2018 (Caveman2Cosmos at this moment).

You can guess this mod has smaller or bigger kinks and ugly stuff in it, that became incompatible with current mechanics.

thanks for the person who told me where to see pics however its not what I want or expect and it was not all of the type of pictures I was requesting as there was no underwater sea cities pics and I did not see any of the 2 or more future eras civics/governments which were no where to be found. all of The future cities all look modern except for a dome/domesheald around them no matter what type of map they are on. I ask that someone please post a pic/s or type a list of all the 2 or more future eras civics and governments in the game. Please also explain what each sci-fi futuristic civic and government is and what they do for the players civilization in the game. I want or have a request to please improve the sci-fi future eras city graphics. Make them look more futuristic rather then modern era look a like cities like OR use the exact same sci-fi future ages city graphics sets designs(genetic age for transhuman era, space cities/colonies for space, underwater sea colonies/cities for sea cities, the diamond age cities for the galactic era)to be ported to/updated to fit into civ4 graphics from the original 1998/1999 call to power pc game. If none of you cannot find any pics/displays of these sci-fi city graphics sets for call to power that I have mentioned so you can have a idea of what they look like or have a idea of a basic framework to work with then please let me know and All try to find old pics, maybe post a pic of my call to power technology tree booklet which might have pics of the cities on there. If none of you can grant this request or not to put in these city graphics that I want in the game then please let me know, perhaps as a mod mod. I would really love for this request of mine to be added into the game, especially updated call to power style sci-fi city graphics for this mod. If you can grant this request, please say yes and post pictures of these city graphics when your done.

Is it the fact that English is not your primary language that makes you come across as a demanding child or are you just being a demanding child? You realize that a LOT of donated time and effort has gone into getting what we have so far right? At what rate of speed do you think the world bends to your will when you apply nothing yourself to make it happen?
 
My apologies sorry. I think you misunderstood what I was saying here and took it a bit to far which went beyond and veered off the thread's topic but. I did not intend or had no intentions to be demanding here at all. I have been out of school for over 10 years so my English/grammar/punctuation might not be that great or what it once was and grew up with trauma and with learning disabilities. the trauma was due to bullying and being outcasted in gradeschool for the most part thus being sent into isolation not by my will plus I was unaware that I am a introvert. Because of these reasons I never learned much social knowledge when it came to socializing or how to properly socialize so I am basically socially ******** or handicapped, please forgive me if I had said anything not appropriate or not pertaining to the threads discussion. I am crap at math to especially when it comes to computers and programing, even graphics design so I really cannot contribute/apply much to this mod unless its ideas however I have given ideas for this mod in the past and even in this thread(the sci-fi city graphics that I was talking about)so its not like I have done nothing for this mod. If you do not want to provide what I have asked about the civics/government in thread #11 then just say no. By the way I am a native English speaker

None of us are art masters here and we're grabbing what we can from other modder's works as fill-ins for now on a lot of things. We do the best we can... please just try to understand that C2C is an ongoing work in progress and we'll always provide the best we can given the time and capability we have to provide it. I'm sure we all want the game to look as amazing as we hope it will at some point. City art improvements are a heavy request and effort and generally takes a modder who is completely focused on that as all they do to really get much improvement there. We plan a lot, including underwater cities and such, but it's going to take years for things to manifest into the vision I'm sure we all share for the mod.

Thanks. We do stand on the shoulders of giants of course. So many mods this one has been built from. It's impossible for us to take even much of a percentage of the credit of the final results here. Zappara, Afforess, so many who came before.
 
To be fair we don't have futuristic artwork for cities, improvements, features and some units.
I can share you with my endgame savegame.

There are a number of citysets based of SMAC available for Civ 4 maybe one or more of them could be useful.

Also this new stuff, work in progress, from mid last year.

Yes they are certainly doing a great job.

I await pics and/or lists/a list of all the current sci-fi future era's civics/goverments and a explanation of what they are(perhaps in the game encyclopeidea/library) to be posted in this thread. Also what the sci-fi civics/goverments do in the game for the players civilization, Again, not trying to be demanding here. I could download the game mod and the game with beyond the swords expansion set from steam for free to see them for myself legally as I have original cd copy's of them however I want to save time as well as less hassle setting it up or getting it work/function.

You really should just install the game from your CD's Patch the base BtS game to 3.19 then add Caveman2Cosmos to the Mod folder. Then you can see for yourself. Because quite frankly I don't have the desire to do all that you want. When you can do it your self.
