How do you give the cives techs or transport them to a modern erea. How do you give a city or unit more than one feature/improvement in a row. It does not allow you to click on one improvement then skip and click on another.

You can select more than one items by holding Ctrl or Shift while clicking...

You need to enable that "Custom Player Data" option under the 'Scenario" menu first. After you enable that, select "Scenario Properties" (Alt-Enter). Click that "Players" tab and you will be able to edit a Civ's tech or change the initial era there....
