:hmm: Strange question... but it doesn't say that you have to ask questions directly about Civ3.

To deny a resource to an enemy, can you just park one of your units on the resource, or do you have to destroy the roads to it?

If at war, a unit denies the resource, AFAIK. If at peace, your units have no effect, so cutting a road is the only option. (Which is possible if the road is in neutral territory - if in the other civs lands, that will cause war anyway)

korossyl- Yea, he did a great justice to all of us. Snoopy is around here too somewhere.

Spike59- parking a unit on the resource while at war will prevent them from working that tile within the city. However they still have the resouse hooked up to their empire & therefor will be able to produce units that require it. You have to pillage the road if you want to keep it from them.

I have a questions myself- Hanging Gardens- "Makes 3 citizens content in its city & 1 content in all other friendly cities." Does this mean if my allie builds the Gardens I also reap the rewards?? The way it's worded would imply so, but I suspect its just another pedia screw up.

It's just a pedia screw up... by friendly cities it means your own cities.

Thats what I figured, thanks.

Unfortunately not. Spaceship parts are considered to be small wonders. You can't disband units/chop forest/rush small or great wonders. You also can't disband units/chop forest for a non-wonder then switch to a wonder.

Few weird questions :crazyeye:

Is it possible to destroy barbarian village (not goody hut) by bombardment (say, with catapult or any other unit with bombardment abilities)?

Is it possible to destroy barb village with my civ's culture?

Can catapult bombard from a sea while waken and staying in a galley?

I really don't think so, but I am not 100% sure.
Is it possible to destroy barb village with my civ's culture?
Yes, the same as if you pop it with a unit, but with the following modifications:

* You get a chance of an 'Advanced Tribe' (free city) if you pop it with a level 3 or greater culture expansion (culture >100).
* If you pop it by settlling a city (so the hut is in one of the cities 8 initial tiles) you can't get barbs.

Note that this is valid for the latest PTW patch, I can't remember the Civ3 settings.
Can catapult bombard from a sea while waken and staying in a galley?
No. Neither can any land unit with bombard.

1. No.

2. Yes. But then it does spawn barbarians.

3. No.

EDIT: anarres beat me to it

Question 1: no, the warrior or horseman in it can be wounded, but not killed.

Question 2: yes. The defender survives, but babr camps can't exist within cultural borders (also goes for goody huts)

Question 3: yes. Just wake them and bombard.

This is nice. 2 different answers to the third question. Well, I don't know, but I'm pretty sure that units loaded into a transport can't bombard.

I have learnt the hard way that arty in a transport can't bombard from the ship. :(

Regarding question 2: I was refering to goody huts, not barb camps, I read the question wrong. Shabba and Aggie are right.

Can you name individual units in PTW? And if so, can you have 2 units with the same name?

Yes you can rename units in PTW (Shift+N). You can also call your units the same name, it just makes it a little difficult to tell them apart.
