. . . . What sort of terrain were you trying to bombard? If the catapult has "wheeled unit" checked in the editor, and the terrain it was trying to fire into was one where wheeled units needed a road to enter, then the unit wont be able to attack or bombard into that tile. . . . .
For the stock game, this is incorrect. Cats are "wheeled units" unroaded mountains are impassable, but you can bombard mountain tiles within range. As has been noted, though, you do have to have a viable target, so you would not be able to bombard an unimproved mountain tile with only redlined defenders on it. I don't do any modding, so I don't know what's possible there, but I guess results could be different in that situation.

Would that be a F.O.R.D. 1/2 ton catapult or 3/4 ton catapult?

:lol::lol::lol:

the next time I get a recalcitrant Catapult I am going to sit and laugh for an hour just remembering these answers.

Try clicking a lot of times. It happens sometimes that you click but the art does not fire.

Secondly, are you sure it was a catapult unit :D ?

Next time you get a recalcitrant catapult, threaten to trade it in for a conscript spearman

Darski, I just saw on the news that Ford recalled a bunch of their trucks today. :D

just found an answer to compatibility issue with Civ 3 on the new intel imacs here, thanks

The "complete" version from Aspyr can, yes, both conquest and the PTW app! But do get the last patch, which is an UB.

The "Vanilla" version from MacSoft, I fear not.

It's been a very long time since I've played C3C (since I brought C4), and now, after having to downgrade to a lower-end machine due to hardware failures, I can't run C4 anymore. So, I went back to C3C.

Good grief. I've forgotten so much I knew about C3C. Thank God for the War Academy to refresh my skills. Anyways, I installed CivAssist II with everything else (helpful tool, that), and I was startled to see "production overrun". Argh.

I can't recall if you can rollover extra production into the next build, or is the overrun just wasted? I've tried searching the forums, and either I'm not hitting the right words, or I'm looking in the wrong place.

Is the overrun lost? Or transferred into income, or what?

Oh, another one. Is the science beaker overrun carried to the next research, or is that lost too.

Argh. Blast you, Firaxis, for screwing with our heads :P

Welcome back to the Dark Side. ;)

Production overruns & beaker overruns are both lost.

Thanks, and thanks for the speedy answer, Aabraxan. Much obliged. *tips hat*

*grumbles* Why couldn't they just code it so overruns are converted into something else.

Dark side, eh? The one thing I miss about civ 4 is not the graphics (those were nice, but I'd rather have gameplay above graphics any day) is...

Right clicking! I keep forgetting C3C doesn't have a right click function, and then I wonder why the unit doesn't move! :crazyeye:

It's funny that you should mention that one. That's the thing that gets me when I haven't played Civ IV for a while. I go to wake a unit by right clicking on it and I end up moving another unit towards the one I wanted to wake. Very annoying.

This was a couple of years ago and since then I've been operating under the assumption that if a unit couldn't go on a tile, it couldn't bombard anything on that tile either.

Cats can bombard ships. I never figured that out myself and was playing the game for a couple of years until I found out. I find this a failry useful tactic now, certainly in the early years when the attack power of ships is bad.

When you building a scenario is there a limit to how many cities you can start with (other then the 512 game crash) or a world pop limit? I have been trying to make a 23 Civ scenario of the world in 1867AD including the Canadians and the Confederate States. I had most of the world setup as colonies and cities (under 512) and the scenario would not run untill I deleted about 50 or 60 Cities. I had somewhere in around 200 - 250 cities to start. So is there some other limits I'm not aware of? or is my PC just too old to run a scenario of that size?

After hours of messing around with civ 3 conquest (it showed me in main screen, build barricade and barricade etc. instead of new world and world). I think i got it patched

My civ3conquest main menu shows 1.22 for patch, on my laptop(that is dead atm) I had 1.22f shown as a game version.
EDIT is there even such a game version? If so my pedia was bugged before too :(
I could load one of the SG's that I downloaded, but question is, can others load my saves?

Is the computer the source of all my problems or was that comment directed towards something completely different?
I don't think Northen Wolf's comments were directed to you. I think they're entirely unrelated.

As to your question, have you asked down in Creation & Customization?
