I remember that i used to use umm... different cd's for civ, but now im getting CivilizationIIIComplete, so what do I do for the latest version? just download it?
Actually, map trading comes with navigation. Communication trading is enabled with printing press.Padma said:In Conquests, Map Trading has been moved to be enabled with the discovery of Printing Press. So even if you all can *Make* Maps, you can't trade them until later.

Thank you for your helpGinger_Ale said:Gelion - on the toolbar below File - Edit - etc., you should see some buttons: terrain, resources, and overlay (use mouseover to read descriptions). If you click overlay, you'll get a menu; select "Starting Location". Then you can place the blue circles on any tile on the map so people will start there. To assign them to a particular civilization, just right click them and select "Assign".
You might also want to change the civilization distances value under the World Sizes tab in the Edit Rules section (I think it's "Starting Distance" or something similar, so that the rule is that civilizations should start around X tiles from you).
Try just opening the CD drive and closing it again. Works for me.McGoo said:I downloaded and ran v1.29f. It appeared to install correctly, but now when I try to start civ3, it is not recognizing the CD in the drive. Any suggestions?
