DarthJedi: I think they're all challenging at least the first time. After that, in my opinion, Rome is the easiest but still the most fun. Then Carthage, Persia, and Greece. If you search the forums from the beginning you'll find more discussion if you need it. It's been awhile since I've played them, but I liked that scenario quite a bit.

Sorry Darth Jedi. I missed the RoR. But RoR can be two things: Rise of Rome and Rise and Rule. Oh, wait... that would be RaR. My bad!

And for Myth 5, they are in the Conquests/saves folder. Simple. ;)

I don't have a conquests save folder. the only folders are: Art, Conquests, redist, Scenarios, sounds, Text. (This is under Program Files-->Firaxis Games-->Civilization III Complete-->Conquests)

Am I missing something?

EDIT: would the fact I have Complete and not just Conquests make a difference in the file location?

Can you post a screen shot?

Here's what it should look like:

Mabey it's because you have civ3 complete?

here it is:

Myth5: Have you actually played a game and generated a save file yet for this install. IIRC, the save file will only be generated when you make your first in-game save.

@Myth5: you are looking in the correct folder. PrinceMyshkin has asked the question I was going to ask as I cannot see any Config file either. This is also only created when you save a game.

I do have some files saved in a different location, but that is only because I had vanilla and then the expansions installed seperately before I installed complete on this computer. If by some chance this is what you have done, then you will find the saves under program files\infogrames interactive\civilization III\...

I can't tell from the posts if this has been answered. When you get to the folder with:
"Art, PTW, Conquests**, Saves, Scenarios, sounds, Text"

you need to click on the Conquests** folder and you will find a saves folder in there that has your saves. At least that is where mine go. it took me a minute to find them when I first installed Complete as well.

If all else fails, save a game with whatever creative name you care to give it, then use Windows' search feature to find it. (Why isn't this the first thing people do when they want to know where their computer is hiding something?)

Yes, I have generated many saves (like at least 20)

Well I used to have Gold edition and then installed Complete for Conquests...

Yeah that sreenshot I posted was in the Civ Conquests, not PTW or just complete. So that's not the problem...

When I search for a save (I.e. Cleopatra, 'cause I played a bunch of games with her) all that comes up are text files for Civilopedia or PediaIcons.

It should also be noted that none of the folders (Conquests, PTW, or Complete) have any folders named "Saves".

Hey, when you are in the main menu, open the Saves menu. use the up arrow keys to get a look at the file that those saves are in. Now, if you don't know where that file is, go up again and find the file that one is in:

Thanks Aabraxan. I'll check it out.

EDIT: I didn't notice that meteor man. I'll have to look at that too.

EDIT 2: I looked at that, Meteor Man, and it's very strange...

It shows, in the Conquests Folder, a Saves folder, where the saves are located. But, when I go to look there, there is none! how can there be a folder in-game, but not out-of-game? Very strange indeed...

Wow...very strange indeed. I would reinstall the game. If you have any custom mods, don't worry, they won't be overwriten by the reinstall.

Well i posted in the technical forum, but if it still doesn't get resolved, i guess I'll have to do that...Thanks for the help though:)

Will do. I'm uninstalling right now...

So give the saved game a unique name that you won't find anywhere else on your computer. Any name will do, just so it is unique and you can remember it.
