About half the time, you catch the message that a resource depleted and another has appeared elsewhere. Sometimes you get it back elsewhere, other times not. It seems to be how rare it is. What resources deplete? I've seen Iron, Coal, Saltpeter, Oil, Uranium and Aluminum deplete. Horses never deplete, and I've never seen Rubber deplete. There is an exploit that prevents depletion where you hook it up at the beginning of each turn and pillage before the turn ends, since resources only deplete during the IBT.

You're right Overseer, rubber never depletes.

@Overseer - makes sense, horses and rubber are "growable" whereas minerals do deplete over time in the real world.

I like that tip!.........I think "Exploit" is a bit harsh.

The answer is here anyway. Sstrooper you need to

1) open the unit_32.pcx file of the unit you are trying to add to the main unit_32.pcx file with a program capable of editing .pcx's such as Gimp.
2) Hit Ctrl + c
3) open the main unit_32.pcx
4) hit Ctrl + v and move it to the open spot where you want it
5) anchor it, in Gimp this is simply done by clicking outside the selected .pcx you are trying to paste as soon as you have it in place.
6) Save and remember you have to open the .biq (scenario) file with the Civ3 editor and go to Edit -> Units. Add the unit with the button near the top if you haven't already and then use the arrows by the previewed pcx to find the one you just added.

I recently finished my first C3C game to 2050. I abandoned a few games earlier where I had smoking and spewing volcanoes. In this game, none of the four volcanoes smoked or erupted the entire game. How common it is to have no volcanic activity for the whole game?

No volcanic activity, or no volcanic activity that you saw?

The first, rather unlikely. The later, possible, depending on how many you had in your area.

Check in C:\Users. I think that's where Vista stores them.

Quick question: Does warfare affect accrual of culture? I'm going for a tight culture win and stupidly got caught in a spy mission (wasn't even becessary) and I got declared on. I have a big tech lead and the war should be a success, but will it hamper my 20K win?

War doesn't affect culture as long as you don't have to revolt because of weariness (which only happens in a Democracy) and you don't mobilize for war. That said, *don't lose your 20k city*. Ask AutomatedTeller about this. Actually, I had it happen in a COTM which I accordingly abandonded shortly after that.

The only thing you must not do is mobilize, as your culture is halved then....

Got it. A rival AI is working on the MAnhattan Project. I've neve had a game go nuclear. Will it wreck my culture city if it's nuked?

Not really, nukes do not destroy structures. All the culture you have, you keep and all culture buildings will still work.

Is the city where you can reach it and raze it? If it is, investigate to see how close there are to being done. Try to get it after they have put a lot into it. Otherwise they will just start it up again some place.

This way you may get some turns in to get stronger or get to SDI or your own nukes to cut off the resources.

Sorry VMXA, I didn't get that. I don't have a real rival for a 20K city but it'll be close to see if I can reach 20K before the AI gets a spaceship victory as I had a slow start and missed some AA wonders.
