Quick Answers / 'Newbie' Questions

Sure. There's a number of different ways you could go about it.

You could email the save to yourself and then save the save file to the other computer by accessing your email.

You could upload the save here on the forum and then download it to the other computer.

You could copy the save file to a CD or flash drive and transfer it that way.

Those are probably the easiest ways.

Well, thanks for the answer, but for some reason whenever I go to open the save folder my comp freezes up, temporarily, but will not let me open that folder. :hmm:

Hi!
Is there any tool that allows higher cost-values for units/buildings in the editor. The current limit is 1000 shields, as I remember. The same question for game-turns: Is there a way to have more than thousand turns? These things always stopped my modding appetite.

This is my first post in your great forum ^^

OK here the prob: Iam playing TAM (in c3c) and i cannot see my rank (for example Alexander the magnificent/the great etc, etc) each time i win a game.
I have this problem in conquests scenarios too... The weird thing here is that when i win in random map game (normal mode) everythink go proper..except scenarios and MOD games...

Also i cannot see my scenario/The Ancient Mediterranean score in Hall of Fame... Seems hall of fame work only for normal game mod and no scenario or even mod.

Any ideas are welcome xD

Yes, I think this is just how the game is; if you don't play the default game certain features don't come up. The first thing you'll notice is that your palace is not being built (the people love you and offer to expand your palace, etc.). So this is normal, and there's not much you can do.
The only thing you can do is to go in the game's properties and replace the standard Conquests file with that of the scenario you're playing, so that you're fooling the game into thinking it's the standard game you're playing. At least your palace will be built then, but I believe features like the Hall of Fame are still not coming back.

You cannot go over 1000 shields without the program exiting on you. That appears to be hard coded. I believe that the same holds true for the number of turns.

rioting or corruption.

That msg means they are rioting. Make sure you do not end the turn, with more unhappy faces than happy ones in any town.

I think it's more complicated than I said. A scenario usually comes with seperate files for units, buildings etc., and you would need to put them in the regular folders as well, instead of in the scenario folder, otherwise the game can't find those files and you will get those errors.
Maybe it's not worth the hassle going through all of that.

Tx, Timerover for your answer. That was what I suspected, but after so many years it could have been, that somebody eventually had made a "hack" regarding this issue.

Two other questions:
1. Is there any file, which includes all underlying game-mechanics of the game (happiness, corruption, combat, aso) or do I have to go through all the various sites, collecting the stuff myself?
2. When I set the grid to "on", always when loading a save-game the grid is turned off, though my ini says GridOn=1. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

This one should be saved as longas you don't restart the whole game. If you restart the whole game it wont remember the value= bug.

Maybe you could split a building in two parts. And then make the second part require the first one, like it is with markets/banks, libs/unis and so on. The first part would only serve the purpose of 'unlocking' the second part while this second parts would give you all the desired effects.
