Can anyone help me on this one? Yesterday I conquered a city from the English which included several wonders, but none of the wonders gave me any culture even though the city was no longer in revolt. As the first culture leap is at 10 I expected to reach it quickly.

Captured wonders don't generate culture.

In C3C, you can turn on in the editor Retain Culture Upon Capture, and then you will generate culture from captured wonders. But I don't use this, so I'm not sure.

There is a Conquest where RCUC is turned on. Don't remember which one.

Thanks Turner. reading your post has kinda scared me a little though. i might practise on regent a bit more.
I'm thinking that's about it.

I have tried a different approach to Civ III (Conquests). I turned off all victory conditions and went exclusively for a histographic victory. Unfortunately, I started on a small island and it has taken until 2000 to completely control one of 2 continents. The Celts own the other (somewhat larger) continent. The Celts have over 2000 moderm armor and nearly 2000 mech inf. I want to wipe them out in the mother of all wars and decided to invade with a force of about 700 MA 700 MI and 350 Radar Artillery which requires about 300 Transports and some destroyers, AEGIS Cruisers for protection. In short, I have reached about 2700 total units including workers and aircraft and the game will not let me build any more. Oh, it allows me to build them but they immediately disappear. I'm on a huge map and have 111 cities. Is there some algorithm controlling the maximum number of units you can have at one time? And if so, how come the Celts have over 5000 total units?

:twitch: are you sure you're computer isn't malfuntioning?
I'm really sure the unit limit is 4096, or 4026, or something like that

At any rate, there is a fixed unit limit (IIRC, it's ~4K), and the celts are cheating ;)

I'm pretty sure that the fixed limit is 4096, unless it got changed with C3C.

I'd really like to see that save.

My puter is working fine. If I abandon a unit, I can build one but I'm maxed out at 2697 units (according to my military advisor screen). Could it be a function of the government used? I'm Communist and the Celts are Fascist. I'd be glad to attach the SAV file but it's 1.36 MB. Is that too large? Should I Zip it?

Try upload the file using the File Upload System. It can handle files up to 3 megabytes! From the link I showed you, select your file (in C:/Program Files/Infogrames Interactive/Civilization III/Conquests/Saves), and click upload. Then, when it says upload confirmed, click to visit the uploads8 folder, where the files go to. Right click the save, and say "Copy Link Location" (or something around that), and when you come to the forums, Paste it (Control + V).

Hope that works...just ask if you need more help.

And yes, the limit is 4096.

Is it exploit to suround AI's units with workers or other units when they are not in your territory, but have to pass through it (they are surrounded by your territory)?

P.S. I have screenshot, but don't think it is needed.

Thanks Yuri2356. But I forgot one maybe inportant detail - they can not move (don't know if you had understood "surround" like this).

An exploit is only an exploit if you feel it to be so, assuming this is single player. It is completely your choice, whatever e say will just be opinion. If this is MP, then simply go by the rules your game has outlined. If it's not outlawed, it is not an exploit.
