No real advantage. It was a concept that really didn't work out. The AI may have a shunned government, but often times it will be in that government....

Thanks, I really didn't notice any benefit to the preferred government.

How do you pop-rush in Civ III? I keep reading that term. I assume it means accelerate the production of something. I found references to it throughout the site, but not the details. I'm in an area I want to populate quickly (quicker than the Greeks) and I'd like to know how to accelerate Settlers. I'd also like to know how to accelerate the FP. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pop rush is only available to Despotism and Communism. And Fascism if you're playing C3C. Otherwise, you use gold to rush an improvement.

Bascially, if you're in one of those (three) two governments, and you need to rush an improvement/unit, you sacrifice population in order to do it, instead of cash. And take a happiness hit for 20 turns in that city.

You can't rush FP. People pop rush temples for early border expansion quite a bit and if war starts.

I totally missed that about the FP.

Right, the only way to rush the FP is with a leader. As it's a small wonder, any leader in C3C will be able to rush it.

Feudalism has pop-rushing in C3C, too.

You can also (once you know Nationalism) draft units and then disband them and get 1/4 of their shield costs - but that is only good for Infantry (2 more shields) or Mech Infantry (7 more shields). Just a little tip.

In case you were asking how to proceed with rushing, you can right click on the city and choose "hurry production", that will get the job done...

That would be cash rushing or gold rushing, or just plain 'rushing'. Pop rushing specifically refers to using pop to rush a building.

Hmmm....it just occured to me you may mean Rohirrim, right?

I have noooo idea what "Rohirrim" means. But yeah I suppose pop rushing could be considered population rushing. But by pop rushing, I think like "Pop goes the weasle" therefore that weasel has been pop rushed weather it cost civillan lives or gold. :coffee:

Um, like corn that pops in the microwave in popped, or pop rushed... yes. :smoke:

Ok,I'm trying to post some screen shots and the size of the jpg file is 2.25Mb for each. If I import the picture to Word, the size is only 1.2MB, I can't find how to shrink it in Paint. Should i just cut it or attack the .txt file?

2.25mb for a .jpg? Are you sure it's not a .bmp? That sounds pretty big for a jpeg. In my camera, the .jpg's only get over a meg when I use the higher 1600x1200 resolution.

What you can do, is load it into Pant, then save it as a .gif. That should make it smaller. Or if it is a .bmp, save it as a .jpg.

still says it's 2.25MB for any format. If I zip all 5 of them, that makes for 3.64MB single file. I'm playing on the wide screen, so mabe the picture is quite large... but again, I'm technologicaly challenged...

so should I zip them individually and attach them one by one?

their maximum image size is 1Mb, and if I zip, they are still to big... I'll look around on other sites that host pictures, maybe I'll find something

If a resource (rubber for example) can only be found on certain terrain types (jungle & forest, I think) then does it hurt my chances of getting rubber later if I clear jungles in my territory before rubber appears?
