In the bottom right hand corner, the box has info on the unit that's moving, as well as much more.

2 Questions:

1 - What is the yellow thing in the top left of that box that looks like the sun?

2 - Where it says your government type, there are 3 numbers that follow. For example, it now says "Monarchy 1.2.7". What is this?

Thanks again,

Stunner :goodjob:

1. It shows that pollution has started to enter the game. The redder it is, the more pollution there is [and will be]. There's no way to bring it down once it gets redder...

2. That's your science, tax, and luxury rates, respectively. You can change them on the F1 screen. Anything that isn't going to science or luxury will go to tax (ie; 0.10.0 is full tax).

Thanks again Ginger Ale!

PS Noticed you're a member of the Nation :king: . I was at Fenway for games 4 and 5 of ALCS last year, start of the greatest comeback (and chokejob) in sports history.

Did you see the loyal Sox Nation member swipe juiced up Sheffield  last night?

A redder sun also means a higher chance of global warming.

Yes, that's what I meant Tim. :)

[offtopic]I saw that last night stunner! Sheffield should've gotten strike 3, not ball 4, as that pitch by Arroyo was DEFINATELY on or below the letters. Luckily we still won it. Varitek's homer over the monster helped. Lucky you got to be there for the ALCS games!

I have a military alliance with the Aztecs against the Germans and I've encountered a problem: When I conquer the last city of the Germans (and get the happy message "We have destroyed the Solid Germans, Sir." :) ), the aztecs start a war against me.
What can I do to prevent it?
I play civ III 1.29f and also (maybe it matters somehow) the aztecs didn't make it to battlefield yet, since I convinced them to join me not so long ago.
I can delay the last attack for another 7 turns and then cancel the alliance, but it seems odd that killing our common enemy will be treated as a treason.

Please help!

Thanks
Urtara

Did you sign the alliance in the same deal that you signed peace?

Well, it's too late for that...
Also, I had peace for a long time, but I need to "convince" the Aztecs to join me in this war, and I had to renegotiate peace.

Don't you agree that killing the common enemy shouldn't be considered as an early break of the alliance?

I have a quick Q for anyone out there that might have some insight into a problem I just ran into.... I'm playing a monarch game with the celts and I wasn't paying attention when I advanced to the middle ages due to war... I got Fuedalism and now I cannot build any more Galic Swordsmen!!! :( The Med Inf is ok but even though he has an attack of 4 he doesn't move fast enough! I'd rather have 3/2/2 than 4/2/1... Does anyone know if there is a way to stil be able to build the Galic after researching Fuedalism? I've had other games that I've researched newer techs that should have made my UU obsolete but I could still build them... For Some reason I can't with the Celts..... ug.... :(

That's what I was afraid of.... I started my GA when the Mayans decided to send in their troops....

I just cracked my old Civ3 game - I didn' t have the CD -
and now I' m playing it all day long. I must say it' s one of the
most addictive games I' ve ever played... though there are a lot of
bugs, even in the most recent patch. Sometimes they stop telling you
when you can improve your palace, for example.
But there are two things I would like to know:
1: When the AI builds the UN, I am never told to vote for a chairman.
Does the player have to be one of the candidates for a selection to
occur? I have only been playing at warlord difficulty, If it has got
something to do with that.
2: When I make my own unit graphics and put them into the game, it
crashes completely. Is there a special program you have to use
to make your own graphics?

Ive just had a war with the French, and have, on defeating an enemy, sometimes had the offer to rename unit? Ive now got Mod. Armors called Joe, Steve, etc.

1) How does this happen?
2) Does it have any advantages, or is it just for cosmetic appeal?

I presume you won with an elite unit and created a leader. A pretty big advantage I would say! The renaming is just for fun. You can actually do this anytime you want by hitting "shift N".

Hint: It's really useful with transports because you don't want to load a unit in the wrong ship! (And because Fire Ships are cool)

What a great idea! Last weekend I played a game as Carthage on an 80% water map and about went crazy trying to figure out if the transports were coming or going, or which one I was loading units into. :p

The AI only holds an election IF it knows it will win. The UN is the only game breaking wonder in the game and you should always build it to keep it from the AI.

Check out the tutorial section in the customization/creation forums.
