@AnsarKing101: You need to right click the transport, select the marine, and then drag it to the city you want to attack. (Or right click transport, select "wake all", then attack)

Ok thanks , will try and hopefully make it right. :)

I'm at the end of a conquest victory and there are two major frustrations:

1 - Watching my workers buzz around the screen (they are all automated) takes 3-4 minutes on my huge map.

2 - The cities are all under the care of the governors and once the city improvement I want is built, without exception I get a new mobile SAM or modern armour being built in that city, which I clearly don't need as my 150 modern armour are adequate for the win.

How can I change my final 10 turns from 7 minutes each to the 20 seconds of actual gameplay I need?

Thanks,

Stunner :goodjob:

1- I think you'll have to wake 'em all up then fortify.
2- You can set the governor to "Never Build Offensive Unit" etc. so you only get the kind of builds you want. Although, unless you queue builds up you will only get a generic type of build not a specific type of build.

If your empire terrain is all improved, fortify some unneeded workers. The game goes thru each worker one by one and looks to see if there is anything for them to do.

Make use of the build queue.

You can just put all your cities on making money. I had a game like that and just kept hitting the next city arrow and changing them to produce gold.

If I have an army with one knight inside, a single knight and 1 pike. Which unit defends first?

According to Theoden, the pike.

EDIT: I'm gonna trust you didn't idiotise something up an one's a veteran and one's a regular.

All vet. So if I'm hearing you correctly it would go (vet) pike, (vet) knight, (vet) knight in army. Shield cost is the key I presume.

I suppose, althought the knight army is really 3.75, but rounds down.

EDIT: Actually, I think "AI strategy" is key.

Hello all,

I'm about to start playing with modifications. Could anyone direct me to some good BEGGINER resources on doing modifications? The forum devoted to this stuff assumes that I know this already.

Also, what are considered the "must haves" with graphics patches etc. (I really have no idea about these things.

I'm playing Civ 3 "Vanilla" v.1.29f (I think).

Thanks a bunch.

There is a sub forum in Creation & Customization called Tutorials & Guides... spend some time reading there.

Get comfortable working with the editor and remember there are other files that need to be modified when addind units/buildings.

Always save it as a scenario and don't overwrite the default .bic file.

Ask more questions in the C&C forums.

In C3C I tried to upgrade all my tanks (shift U)to modern armor. Of the 79 tanks only 59 were upgraded. I tried to upgrade tham individually but could, and several turns later, still can not upgrade them. I have enough money. My government is commie.

What would cause the remaining 20 tanks to not be upgradeable?

Are the remaining tanks in cities with barracks?

You got that right!! I did have Sun Tzu's on my large Archepelago island however the tanks in question were in ai cities, without barracks, on another island. Since some of those cities had barracks it never occurr to me what was happening.

Thanks I now have 20 more MA"s to go after the Zulu.
