What happens to the small wonders (e.g. FP, MA) if the city it is built in culture flips or conquered by the enemy? I presume they are lost, but can they be built again?
Yep :)

Other q: can I build the Pentagon if I had 3 Armies once, but one of them was defeated, meanwhile?

You can't start building the Pentagon in that case, but if you had already started building it, then you could continue. It happened to me last night :(

Odd... I recently had a game (C3C) where I lost an army mid-Pentagon building, and the production switched.

I thought it would have too, so immediately after I lost my army I checked if it still appeared on the list. It did. Incidentally, I was kinda peeved about it, so I stopped playing before I ended that turn. Now that i've reloaded it again (to the same turn), it is still there, but disappears by the start of the next turn. So my bad

Why can't you airlift Leaders? Is he too big to fit on a C-130?
Since you're not allowed to airlift armies (for obvious reasons), they also disabled airlifiting of leaders. This is just so that you don't airlift a leader with troops, then create an army :) (instead of the other way around)

Thanks for the answer! Sooo, that means that yes, they are lost, but yes they can be rebuilt if lost? :)

Yet another pentagon question: I read somewhere that c3c has the pentagon have some additional benefit that was not there before? Is it true, and if yes what is it?

Yes ;)

Not noticed anything, and it says nothing new in the civelopedia. So I guess not :)

Civ3.com says: Military Academy - There were not as many complaints regarding the Military Academy, but we thought that armies could use a boost. So now - in addition to the ability to build Armies - all Armies now receive 1/6th of the combined attack/defense rating as a bonus to the Armies combat effectiveness.

This is so vague that it's not clear whether the Military Academy is the source of this bonus, but my Sipahi army is only 8.3 without a Military Academy. In a few turns I will tell you if the Military Academy boosts this.

Update: built Military Academy, no change to stats.

Weird. You had the Pentagon actually under construction and did not try to switch back to e.g. Palace and forth to Pentagon?
Or you had the Pentagon in a build queue?

I thought only the (possibly greyed-out) build option would vanish from the lists after losing the third army, but already set Pentagon production would be completed...

FWIW, I know that it's possible (vanilla...C3C) to complete a great wonder which gets obsolete during construction, as long as you don't switch production during completion.
That obsolete wonder would not appear as build option anymore after getting the obsolete-making tech, but construction in progress would be completed.
The same holds true for resource-dependent unit construction: e.g. if you lose access to oil during tank construction, the tank would still be completed. Any other oil-dependent stuff in the build queue won't be completed, though (queued-up items get switched to something else).
So the Pentagon is really kinda special?
:hmm:

The bonus is not relflected in the stats, you just need to know it is there.

According to many here, the 1/6 bonus is default for an army. The MA makes it 1/4. I don't know if the developers divulged this or it was thru testing that it was discovered.

TBH, I don't remember exactly what happened. It's possible I actually switched from Pentagon to something else (maybe even another Army?) when I lost the Army and wondered where my Pentagon option had gone when I tried to switch back.

What I do recall is finally finishing it, and promptly forgetting it and leaving my Armies with just 3 units in them (given I'd stopped warmongering at that point, it hardly mattered, but it's the principle...).

Nope, you were right. I tried and tested it :)

Are you sure? I'm pretty certain various AIs were announced to be starting work on the GL after I got Education.

Yes, this annoying feature was in Civ2. Personally, I like the Civ3 way better. This way, those culture/tourist attraction wonders can still be somewhat useful.
