1. No!

2. No!

1. Sea squares DON'T count towards the Domination Limit. (Coast squares do.)

2. Depends on what version of Civ you're playing:
A. Vanilla Civ & PTW: 2/3 (66.6667%) Land + Coast, Population
B. C3C: 66% Land + Coast, Population

:)

But if you're playing a Conquest scenario it's often much lower (about 35% for Sengoku). Press F8 for victory conditions. My new favourite button.

Yes, the new victory screen is a great addition to Civ3!

Keep in mind too that one can change the percentage of the domination limit, culture limit, victory point score, city lost in elimination matches, etc. in Conquests. Yet another reason to upgrade!

I agree about upgrading, I wasn't happy about slapping down $30 for Conquests so soon after coughing up $20 for PTW, but it was worth it (although PTW was not).

Well, PTW was, when it first came out. I'm not as upset about it as you are, since I had PTW for over a year before getting C3C. Just so long as Civ4 doesn't contain all of Civ3 & C3C, to boot....;)

Well I was unbright and bought PTW right before Conq came out because I wasn't in the loop. On the other hand I got Civ3 second hand for practically nothing so it still only came to $50.

Ok I'm done with this topic!

How does AA work in Conquests? Some ships and flak cannon have 1, and some ships and SAM have 2 . . . what does that number compete with? Also, do AA guns always do clean kills? I've only seen them in the Pacific War Conquest, but every time they hit a plane they shoot it down, never just damage.

The higher the number, the better the attack. Not sure how it relates, tho. So obviously, flak is not as good as Mobile Sams, and the rest aren't as good as Aegis Crusiers, which have 4, IIRC.

Could someone explain this please?

I'm playing through my first game of civ III. For some reason or another my bombardments always miss. I have tried to bombard with both ground and air units and don't even hit a lone worker.

Bombardment can reduce a targets number of hitpoints. Eventually, the target gets killed. That is, if the bombarding unit has the editor flag 'lethal air (and/or sea) bombardment' checked. So if you bomb a worker (no HPs) with, say, a catapult (no lethal bombardment), you will always miss. Also, if you bomb an undefended size 1 town w/o any regular improvements, you will always miss (nothing to hit left).
Note that the flags have changed in C3C (in vanilla, only cruise missiles and nukes have lethal bombarment flag IIRC, but you could add the flag to other units in the editor as well).
I'd suggest to capture the enemy worker instead of bombing it anyways. Just move a combat unit onto that tile and get an upkeep-free slave (works at half-speed, but they're worth it!).:)

We-love-king-day (WLTKD) reduces shield waste and flipping risk (if present).

Thanks! It cleared things up a bit, but according to what you said, I should be able to reduce the hitpoints of city-defending-units, and I don't seem to manage that either. When attacking cities with only cavalery defending them with fighters and bombers, I still never hit anything.

and, by the way... Which units have lethal bombardment in regular Civ III?

There is a random chance of hitting the unit, a building, population, or missing. It is best to use many and the best bombardment units in one turn to improve the odds.

Grille already mentioned that only nukes & cruise missles have lethal bombardment.
