Quick question about techs

Every time you discover a new technology, the next tech will take a few more "light bulbs" to learn. The exact number depends on what difficulty you are playing on.

But what about if you capture an enemy city and get a tech from them, or if you get a tech from one of those goody huts? How does that affect how many light bulbs will be needed to learn techs for the rest of the game?

Example of what I'm asking: Lets say the first three techs you learn will require 5, 10, and 15 light bulbs, respectively. You learn the first one. Then, while in the process of learning the second one, you capture an enemy city and take a technology. Will you still learn the in-progess tech in 10 light bulbs? Or will you learn it in 15 light bulbs?

Thanks.

According to my experience, for that purpose it is irrelevant whether you discover a new technology through scientific research, by capturing an enemy city, through espionage or by entering serendipity squares. Each new technology you get makes the next one a little more expensive (in light bulbs).

So, in your example the answer is: 15 light bulbs.

I concur. The only ones that do not count are the ones you start the game with. That is, regardless of how many techs you start the game with the first tech you learn costs the same.
