Hello guys, it is me... again.

I am currently playing an Immortal game. Fractal map, rocky climate. No Tech Trade, Huts and Events.
Only met Sitting Bull, at around 2920 BC, so it might be semi-iso.

I started at 'Start', but decided to move away from one Corn to settle on the Marble. Hoping (Gambling) I would get something else up north. Did not know about the Gold before I settled, so I guess I was somewhat lucky on that one.

I think I will move capital down to river later, but I thought the early bonus on Marble was worth it. Might have been a bad choice, but whatever.

As for the city down by the river, would you settle A or B location? I kind of want to settle A in order to not ruin the FP, but getting a Gold in the (future) Capital would be kind of sweet. I would lose some good production hills and some river tiles by settling B as well, although I would get two Grassland Hills. Settling B would also give me a brown tile.

The gold can be picked up by settling farther south by the Corn and the Spices, so the question is to get it in the (future) capital or not.

Edit: Oh, and ye, settling B will save me a forest to chop too.

What would be the experts' opinion on how to settle?

It's such a nice area that I'd certainly split it between three cities. I'd rarely settle on a fp if it's possible to avoid it. 1W of (southern) gold seems obvious to me and the 3rd one possibly between corns, but probably 1W of that. Nice spot to build marble wonders.

@sampsa Thank you very much for the response. I never thought of splitting this particular area in three, or I thought about 1N of (southern) gold.
Quick question on Capital though, would you relocate it, and if so, where?

Between A and B it's definitely A.
B saves a forest by killing food. That's not a good trade. B also kills coastal settlement
Can put helper cities all around A. The 2nd corn first ring is also stronger.
It's not like you have to settle many spots around the current cap, just the south. So city 3 between gold and corn is good enough to get it

A is a bit of a take it all spot. One could wonder if it's too much, This city probably will never work all FP's and corns and grassland river leaving surrounding cities with nothing. Like Sampsa mentioned spreading between some cities will work better.
Another suggestion would be 1 further south of A.

I'd settle 1S of the wet corn first if it was safe, but in the circumstances PH near second gold is probably the best. That warrior in Uruk ought to be spawnbusting in the south. May be, another warrior before settler? Otherwise settling anywhere farther than A or B seems reckless.

Why is the city working a 2-hammers PH (unimproved) when building a settler, when you have FPs in reach too?

Everybody,

Thank you very much for all the replies. I ended up settling the way sampsa (and Fippy) suggested. I then went for the Oracle and completely neglected settling more cities, so Sitting Bull came and took all the land. Therefore I had to settle some semi-decent cities to hook up copper, and did a cata-vulture attack which completely decimated him.
