Two things about v41.2.5561 - 2021-08-26 (*)

1. Spy losses/deaths are not counted in the statistics:
spy_losses_not_counted.jpg

2. I notice newly conquered cities with 12000 culture in the city itself have a large spread of tiles with only 1 culture point. I marked some of those tiles in this picture. I only recently got this city from a minor civ.

At the same time my capital (with hundreds of thousands of culture in the city center) has not even got all tiles that are one step away (pic below). It feels strange that the older the city, the less culture *spread* it has.

(*) Apologies for the old version, my C2C computer is offline so I need to update C2C (and copy these screenshots) via USB stick.

Just a quick question about culture spread. I took a BUNCH of cities from the UK like 100 turns ago, none of which were near my main civ. Half of these cities had their borders spread out just fine while the other half on the lower end of the continent (these lower cities are shown in the screenshot) just won't seem to spread the culture out even after over 100 turns. Why is this? The nearest UK owned city is pretty far away... Does improved land slow the spread of culture, specifically those hamlets, villages etc? Take a look at the tile below liverpool for example? No cities near by, why after so long has culture not spread there but it had spread to the tile to the left of Chelmsford?

Thanks in advance! This is a great game, I just like to know this stuff so I can play better :P

Continuing from my previous post, check out this next screenshot. I took over the city of Portsmouth and still the area near watford and liverpool is controlled by the UK even without the presence of a nearby city, even though I own the land all around it. Why is this zone harder to take over?

Not an answer, but there is a setting named "Minimum city border" when starting a game that always gives the eight tiles around a city. Maybe this can be set in the WorldBuilder.

I've had the same issue, even when the AI had only one city of size one left on an island, then it was still dominant in culture like 30 tiles away or so. I figured that if I want resources around a newly conquered city, that I probably just need to eliminate that AI completely, or invest in culture for a very long time.

Is there a way to determine if a great wonder has been built *before* you have the requirements to build it? I try beelining ancient wonders like the Library of Ninevah, Cheomseongdae, and the Valley of the Kings. I can't even get one, but I feel I need something to catch up to the AI at that point. I play on Immortal because I find anything less than that, and they can't catch up to me by Ancient era. I even select the scientific and efficient traits, but I still lag behind on immortal. Is there a middle ground here? I was hoping the recent nerf to commerce from trade would slow down the AI a bit, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe there are some settings or strategies to help keep up with the AI?

Edit: on a related note, I don't think my SVN update (with the commerce nerf) was successful. Two errors occurred : "unable to create pristine install stream" and "the system cannot find the path specified"

Edit2: resolved issue in first edit

Click on the graph-icon on the top left and then select "Top 5 cities" (or something, my C2C computer broke, waiting for a new one...). There is a list of wonders built, you can sort by name.

would you consider below good economy in nightmare difficulty game when entering sedentary era? https://i.ibb.co/y8DKQkp/sedentary.png main problem was low research and impossible to get more before tribalism, no other cities of size at least 2 to capture, in my past games on this turn number I had much better developed economy, not sure if something was changed during few months in prehistoric era, or my gameplay worsened after break

question 2: what is religion event handler error? https://i.imgur.com/FkhQ4nN.jpg option was divine prophets and not choosing religion, suddenly I got zoroastrianism in game even though technology in tree is still not researched, and no AI is more advanced in research

I have reached the stage in a space map where I can start building Lunar Settlers. I did so but when I place it over a lunar base I built some time ago, I do not have the ability to build a lunar city. I have, however, successfully built cislunar cities.
How do we build cities on the moon? Thanks.

That culture issue you describe in the last screenshot there is something that we have fixed in SVN, the problem comes from a lot of improvements themselves having culture, which makes them almost unflippable (cottages, and its upgrades are particularly notorious)

You need to upgrade lunar base - only its upgrades are valid places to settle, not lunar base itself

Upload save turn before it happened - its python error, this means something failed to trigger, can be something as simple as random typo

Heh, something has gone wrong somewhere, Zoroastrianism spread to your city called Ostia, but Zoroastrianism has not yet been founded, so it has no holy city, but since your city is the first city to get the religion the game assumes it is being founded and wants to play the religion movie, and it wants to center the camera on the holy city..... only there is no holy city so it reference NULL in the attempt.

I'll investigate the cause of this further.

Hmm, slave market is supposed to reduce the spread rate of Zoroastrianism, text doesn't reflect that very well.

Ok, resolved the bug.
