Am I the only one struggling with a huge settler cost (220 hammers on normal speed) after patch g?

I tried to use the FFH Editor (after upgrading excel to 2007), but get a "can't find project or library" error when hitting the export unit information button. The other export buttons seem to work fine.

Then I went and manually changed the iCost in the CIV4UnitInfos.xml for the settler unit. It was set to 0 but changing it to some other value (e.g. 120 as it should cost on normal) has no effect when I re-launch the game and start a new map.

I would appreciate any help on this seemingly very basic problem

Cheers,
Sandro

It was set to zero? That doesn't make sense to me at all. I've never used the editor so I can't solve that problem.

But with patch g the cost of a settler went from 160 to 120 so it should be easier.

If it's the same error I had (I don't remember exactly what the error message was) you can download a missing file to fix it. I searched (Google) for the error message and found out how to identify the missing file. In my case it was MS "Office Web Components". The downloaded installer is called "owc10.exe". You should be able to find it somewhere on MS's website.

I have no idea what'd be causing that but it sounds like something is FUBAR. I'd try re-installing the mod.

Thank you both. I had a suspicion something was indeed fubar - I will try to reinstall the entire mod and patch.
