Quickly becoming frustrated

So I was looking around today in my game cabinet and saw Civ IV. I remembered having a ton of fun with it, so I brought it out and inserted it in.

I do remember not being able to install on Vista. I'm running Windows 7 now, and I still can't install. It locks up during the Art.FPK process at the very beginning. If I leave it for a while, I get a data2.cab error.

And even after I quit the installation, I can't even delete the files! They stick around in the C drive and although I'm an administrator for my computer, it gives me errors.

This is driving me crazy! Some insight would really be appreciated.

I think you have a bad disk scratched up or a bad cd/dvd drive because i've been able to install them on both vista and win 7

Well, the disk does look a little worse for wear. Anything I can do about this?

Try cleaning the disc.

Try copying the disc to your hard drive and installing from there. That may help, but may give the same error.

All the add ons are combined and it pretty cheap around £12 I think

gold edition only has Civ4 and Warlords
Complete (in europe) only has Civ4, Warlords and Beyond the Sword
Complete (in the US) or Ultimate (in Germany) have Civ4, Warlords, Beyond the Sword and the standalone Colonization
