R:TW Unlocking Factions

If I wanted to install R:TW on a different computer, which file(s) would I need to backup so I wouldn't have to unlock all of the factions for the campaign all over again?

I cant even find how to unlock most factions... I've beaten Macedon and Carthage a number of times but it doesn't unlock them.

Can ya help me out eh?

Beat the game and you will be able to play all unlockable factions. There is a file you can edit to unlock the other factions, I recall off the top of my head.

Simply open up "C:/Program Files/The Creative Assembly/Rome - Total War/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat.txt" should you own Gold or "C:/Program Files/Activision/Rome - Total War/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat.txt" should you own the standard edition, not Gold. It should look like this.

All you have to do is change it to (the spaces at the front are tab keys):

You also need a description for the unplayable factions except for Macedon and Pontus in Data/Text/campaigndescriptions.txt.

The descriptions can be found here. If you don't enter a description for an unplayable faction, the game will crash if you click on the faction symbol in the imperial campaign unless you chose Macedon or Pontus.

This is the description I entered. (it can be anything)
